    Just take the obvious choice and give Ben Johnson his money and see if Johnson is on board with bringing in Saleh as your DC. Boom done, HR coaching staff.

    Not sure I see how trading a better hitter in Seiya for a less good more expensive hitter in Alonso makes a ton of sense.

    Fully agreed. Any starter joining the Cub staff that isn't Sasaki is coming via trade.

    Bears currently sitting at #9. Unfortunately that means the majority of mocks have Carter, Graham, Banks and Campbell coming off the board before the Bears pick which is pretty much worst case scenario. Edge rusher Mykel Williams is the name seen the most at #9. That Carolina win yesterday hurt a lot, so we're at the point we desperately need the Jets to win 1 more so the Bears can slide into the 8th.

    After today I'm more on board than ever as saying you hand Johnson a blank check and tell him to fill in whatever he needs to lead this team going forward.

    The Bears have to be the worst 1st down team in the league, it's just constantly penalties or negative plays which sabotage the rest of the series.

    Lamar Jackson currently sitting at 37 passing TDs to 3 INTs.

    Really wish the Cubs had been in on Milner. He would have been a very nice option and real cheap.

    Absolutely sucks knowing the most exciting pitcher available for trade wont be available to the Cubs because of division, but damn I would love to have Jared Jones. That's true #1 upside.

    In the midst of a playoff run, Cousins has been benched. Penix gets the start on Sunday.

    The cost would be enormous , like farm destroying, and seeing as the Cubs aren't going to get crazy with the spending, they're desperately going to need those cheap young players.

    Sasaki is basically off the table with that international prospect swapping from the Marlins to the Cubs. Unless the Cubs get super creative they've got like half the international money as some other clubs now.

    It's pretty much what I expected. I'd just rather have kept cody, grabbed Luzardo and Chafin, fill the bench with prospects and called it an offseason.

    Sometimes I wonder if you actually have to know anything about sports to be a sports writer. I read an article last night that suggested the Cubs might sweeten the deal with the Yankees sending Nico with Bellinger and getting back Stroman and Warren. That is just so absurdly lopsided, you wouldn't even find nonsense like that on a fantasy baseball message board.

    The asking price the Phillies have set for Bohm is ludicrous. They've asked the A's For Mason and the Mariners for Gilbert/Kirby and remember they tried to get Tucker for Bohm plus a terrible contract in Castellanos.
