  1. I mean it makes sense. At this point for 2026 he's behind all of Steele, Shota, Boyd, Taillon, Horton, Brown and Assad. If they get a controllable pitcher here he's 9th on the depth chart.
  2. Value wise it's reasonable but man I feel like that has the potential to be bad
  3. It's 9M and he'll be 36, it's not adding much if any value.
  4. I'd think Long more than Alcantara
  5. Yeah that was not what I was seeing, but that's honestly not a bad return for a rental bat. It was never realistic that he'd bring a top 50 guy.
  6. Gotta be one of Gallagher, Birdsell or Sanders
  7. Ok I need something official because if it's the package some people are running with then thank you Jed for saying hell no
  8. If Sloan was one of the two pitchers, that's a pretty big get for a rental.
  9. Don't mind this, wasn't the bat I wanted anyway.
  10. If he's headed to the pen and he's anything like he was in 2024, the price was low.
  11. Isn't that the kid who hit like a 500 foot hr in a showcase when he was like 14?
  12. Ramon Urias to Houston and Steven Matz to Boston
  13. I do think he's a good bet to hang around in the majors for a while as a 4th OFer, but to put him on the same level as Caissie and Ballesteros is just unjustifiable to me.
  14. The horsefeathers.....Fangraphs has Christian Franklin #7 on the Cub farm and a 45 FV? Really losing any respect for a formally good website.
  15. Christian Franklin fine whatever, but Ronny Cruz too. Feels a tad rich.
  16. As long as he's one of 2 pitchers that's fine. If he's the only SP then that's super gross. Hopefully no one in the top 15 to 20 was given up.
  17. Alcantara has never really gotten the proper love here. The can play above average defense at a premium position. He doesn't need to put up an .850 OPS to be very valuable. You get a CFer who can put up a .240/.310/.440 line and that's probably a 3.5 to 4 fWAR guy.
  18. That package is like one Rojas away from a possible Ryan or Gore package which would be quite a bit better ROI in my opinion.
  19. Your thinking is that Arizona is going to ask for a guy in Rojas who stands a pretty good chance being a top 30 prospect in the game once after season lists come out, or a top 50 prospect in Wiggins? I suggest you go back and find the last time a rental bat was moved for a return like that.
  20. If we're going the pure rental route I'll take Kelly, Castro, Bieber and Miller
  21. This is what is keeping me sane. None of the people the Cubs have been consistently mentioned with have gone off the board.
  22. I kind of wish the Cubs were in on this if this was all the cost.
  23. Damn their 3rd RP, someone poke Jed
