  1. Well that's a pitch Tucker should have done something with.
  2. I think 3 is probably the low end. I'm getting the impression it would be something like Caissie+Wiggins+Brown+Alcantara
  3. The rumor a week or so ago was the Twins wanted 2 top 100 guys for each of Jax or Duran to move them. If that's the case then the ask on Ryan must be absurd.
  4. Cross Bubic off the list, he's currently having shoulder issues.
  5. There is no excuse for allowing Ben Brown to continue taking the mound. It's just throwing away games.
  6. Caissie for Keller would not make me happy. Not that I don't think Keller is solid, but his contract is not that hugely different than it would be in FA. There's certainly a discount there, but i don't think it's big enough to warrant Caissie when Keller as a pitcher is more solid than good.
  7. Really surprised by the complete lack of Ks for Cade so far. Like I didn't expect him to retain his 10+K/9 from the minors, but I certainly didn't expect him to be neck and neck with Colin Rea in the K/9 department. I also think that makes him pretty exciting. He's not really missing bats yet and he's still a solid pitcher with decent peripherals.
  8. I'm starting to sell myself on Alcantara. Not in an everything equal kind of way, but more in a if he can be acquired without any of Caissie/Rojas/Ballesteros/Wiggins/Conrad then I think I'd pull the trigger.
  9. Just eyeing his swing, but I really feel like there should be some more pop in there. Nothing crazy like 25hr pop, but maybe like 15hr pop would be just fine.
  10. ESPN, PSD and here, that's been it for me.
  11. Unless Ryan, Gore or Cabrera are available I find it rather unlikely Caissie is going anywhere.
  12. I wouldn't be at all shocked if an eventual package ended up looking something like Long+Sanders/Birdsell edit: I do think that's on the high side of expected returns, but I can definitely see it happening.
  13. But they're all better so why make the rotation worse?
  14. As a 2nd pitcher, sure, but he's not someone I want starting a playoff game. Also, what do you do with him next year? He's not starting over Steele, Shota, Boyd, Taillon and I'm not blocking Horton for him.
  15. Gore or Ryan, no questions asked.
  16. From the same guy who said Alcantara would cost the Cubs something stupid like Horton, Caissie, Rojas and a 4th
  17. The return on Soto was kind of the Cub equivalent of Nazier Mule and Connor Noland
  18. Not once before about 2 or 3 months ago did i start blocking things on my facebook and my youtube, but the horsefeathers clickbait and adds from places like turning point usa have made it something I have to do now.
  19. I don' t think anyone is off the table but if I had to sort it using mlb pipeline top 10 as a basis, which doesn't have the latest draft, it would go something like this. Only available for a piece with years of control: Caissie Ballesteros Rojas Wiggins Available for a piece with control or a really good rental Alcantara Long Available for a rental Birdsell Ramirez Triantos Guys where I'm undecided Gallagher- I could see both sides of the coin here. He's surging so sell high or the Cubs believe he's legit and think selling him now would be underselling him. Most likely to me would be 1) Alcantara 2) Long 3) Caissie
  20. Don't think Seranthony is better than what they have and will have. He does provide swing and miss which the pen definitely lacks, but he also walks a ton of people. Not sure what I feel about Fairbanks. That 2.8 HR/FB% is certainly not going to last and barely a 2:1 K/BB is hardly thrilling.
  21. I honestly think Willi Castro is the better option if Shaw continues hitting over the next few days. The Cubs don't need an everyday 3B, they need someone with a bit of flexibility, who can mash lefties.
  22. Even if we go back and ignore April and May, focusing only on June 1st and going forward we're still looking at a 4.92 ERA, granted it does come with better peripherals, a 3.60 FIP and 3.95 xFIP but they can get that out other trade candidates who aren't as risky and who wont require half the return people seem to think Alcantara will. If we're gonna splurge then splurge big on Ryan or Gore and if we're going to go after a minor reclamation project then make it Taj Bradley who was just optioned by the Rays.
  23. He has always been by far the highest on Alcantara and by far the lowest on Caissie.
