  1. Solid against righties, mashes lefties, lots of positional versatility. Exactly what we needed in a bat. I wanted him over Suarez.
  2. Thank god for that much, still salvageable.
  3. Verlander is a name, nothing more. He's not good.
  4. Then he's not near the acceptable GM some people in here like to consider him. Shota, Boyd(on way more inning than he's thrown at that point), Taillon is not an acceptable playoff rotation.
  5. There really are still a lot of good names out there that I can't imagine aren't being dealt.
  6. That's fine, then pivot to Kelly and Castro and be done with it.
  7. I'm saying that while it's still possible he walks away with the middle ground, which would be like Kelly+Castro, I think something like that is increasingly unlikely and it's turned toward hitting a homerun on the major targets or pivoted to guys most of us are going to see as very minimal upgrades if at all. I might be wrong, but that's the impression I'm getting from how things are going.
  8. This is basically where I'm at. Either we're all going to be going crazy for happy reasons in about an hour or we're going to be crazy for very unhappy reasons in an hour, I think the middle ground is probably gone.
  9. Not for me. With Pressly I've already accepted what's coming.
  10. Well time for me to drive home from work, so surely I'll get good news when I get home and I wont be all kinds of pissed off.
  11. I've been pretty calm about all of this, but if they walk away from the deadline and their only other acquisition is a Charlie Morton, then I'd want Jed gone following the season and is the exact reason I didn't want him given an extension yet.
  12. Brewers don't have to make deals since they apparently acquired Miguel Cabrera in his prime for a guy who got dropped from their rotation.
  13. it's O'hearn and Laureano, that's going to bring back a good prospect.
  14. Like there is legit no reason not to land Castro outside of the scouts just really hating something about his game.
  15. Edward Cabrera and frankly I'm getting pretty close to putting Sandy Alcantara back on that list.
  16. See, I kind of find it exciting if Kelly, Cease, Gallen, etc. are off the board because that means Jed has a big fish and it's close enough to done that he sat out the rentals.
  17. Not sure I'd classify Mullins as going for it. Hot start to 2025 but been bad for a while now.
  18. I think this is exactly it. They're trying to get the Marlins, Nationals or Twins to blink and if they don't, the Cubs pivot to a rental. There's a still a ton of big rental names out there.
  19. Technically yes, but this is nothing like reddit, twitter, Facebook, etc. where people who know nothing of baseball let alone trade values come in here and spout hot takes. There's still plenty of hot takes here, but usually with a little something to back it up.
  20. If they see Flores as a legit MLB catcher, he's kind of a good get. The bat is quite exciting by catcher standards and that would make him quite valuable. If he's 1B or DH then yeah, this is very underwhelming.
  21. They must feel very confident in Flores sticking behind the plate
  22. No way in hell I could do sports on social media. The average fan is a moron and even those on mlbtraderumors are awful. I don't have time for a million hot takes that will ignore statistical evidence that they're wrong.
