  1. @chibears55 has the shinning, I knew it.
  2. I'd be quite surprised with another pen arm. I think a SP is just about guaranteed and I'd put a bat that hit lefties at like an 80% likelihood.
  3. 6 eastern, but announcements still come out for like another 20 minutes for deals that were completed right before the deadline.
  4. I was actively pushing for him too. I am now off that ship.
  5. Guy has tons of power, but he also is over 31k% this year. I mean honestly right now I think of him as a Joey Gallo clone.
  6. I think that would signal very negative things regarding retaining any of our current Cubs anywhere near FA.
  7. I'll read the tea leaves here and say, if Kittredge is the best they get because Hoyer is desperately prospect hugging then you can kiss any realistic chances of retaining Tucker goodbye. There's no reason to hang onto all of Long/Alcantara/Caissie/Ballesteros if CF, 1B and RF are blocked for the better part of a decade. Each one of those guys would be blocked next year and for some of them even longer.
  8. They don't need to do a big thing. Go get Kelly and Castro, boom done and a deadline I'm very happy with.
  9. I mean they can trade Horton, but I don't want much going back with him. I surely don't want Horton+Caissie+ another notable prospect.
  10. Tigers grab Kyle Finnegan, he was mentioned with the Cubs a few times.
  11. I'm not trading Horton and the reason for that is simple. Look at his numbers even with this weird inability to get guys to swing and miss with 2 strikes when it's not an issue getting swing and miss for strike 1 or strike 2. Once he gets that ironed out, I think he's going to be real good.
  12. Well yeah, I'd put every cent I own on Shaw never touching 40HRs and a huge amount on never touching .900 OPS too, but he doesn't have to. He's vastly better defensively. He's vastly better on the bases. All Shaw has to do is be like a 115-120 wRC+ guy and he matches Suarez's career year. even as a league average bat he's probably a 3 fWAR player.
  13. I can't see how that would be even remotely feasible given there is no one to play 3B besides Shaw.
  14. I'd be shocked if there wasn't another big prospect in that ask.
  15. Steven Kwan is though. The Padres just need someone to give Cleveland prospects for Kwan, then deal Kwan to them for Cease and/or Suarez. I could totally see this Cubs trade Alcantara+Triantos for Kwan Cubs trade Kwan+Amaya to San Diego San Diego Trades Cease+Suarez to the Cubs
  16. I'd deal Long+Triantos for Cease. Not 100% it gets it done, but I'd pull the trigger on that.
  17. I'm not sure where you even got this idea.
  18. That is going to be pricy, but I'd be willing to bet this price is partially offset by a Cease deal in a few hours.
  19. Willi Castro is, and has been, the obvious choice
  20. Unlike those two, his peripherals don't suck. Still, I'm not sure he's worth the 9M.
  21. We might not find out tonight since apparently the trade wasn't supposed to be announced until tomorrow.
  22. I would be quite unhappy with that. I still think Brown is a mid rotation arm with some tweaks.
