I'd agree that the Rangers gave up a good package, but if Jed more or less knows it's Kelly or I'm going to end up marching Taillon out there in game 3 then he should have been prepared to throw something like Alcantara+Birdsell and a 3rd lower down in the ranks.

He hasn't been 1.49 good, but he does seem legitimately greatly improved. 2.85 FIP, 3.76 xFIP, 3.30 xERA. The Cubs will have their hands full.

Jed half asses FA, goes all in on offseason trades with Tucker, then half asses the TDL. I just don't get it.

With Jed clutching his prospects this tightly, there's no way in hell Tucker is a Cub next year and none of the other guys who are FAs after 2026 are getting extensions either.

There has got to be a SP, I simply refuse to believe Jed finds this rotation acceptable for a team with world series aspirations.

Yup that's a bit of an ouch. I liked Gallagher a good bit, but it's still reasonable to me in this market.
