  1. It's the cold weather. The Cubs will absolutely hit more than 70 HRs. Cubs have hit 5HR, the Yankees have hit 28. Even the Pirates who have only scored 30 runs this year have 7. I'm not saying they wont, I'm saying I'm having doubts.
  2. Emerging as one of my least favorite players in the league. I don't even know why he pisses me off, but he does.
  3. So we're going to the World Series? I'll take it. I meant strictly from a power perspective. Though if Castro wanted to go crazy on the basepaths Vince Coleman style I'd be all for that.
  4. I'm starting to doubt 2 things. 1) The Cubs will have any player hit 20 or more HR and 2) They will hit 70 or more HR as a team. It's like we're looking at the 87 Cardinals minus Jack Clark.
  5. Our crap for a Rays super talent seems tough to see happening. Sarcasm?
  6. Terrible peripherals, a declining K rate and declining velocity. I'll pass if it takes a prospect of any value.
  7. Anyone else notice Ondrusek has already made 9 appearances? That is absolutely absurd and just another reason that Baker has no business coaching at any level.
  8. ...I've heard more than enough about Yadier. He's not a superstar, he's simply good. He had one good season at the plate.
  9. Reds and Cards the most bitter rivalry in the central....how the hell does he get paid to announce?
  10. What is with all the shitty white trash facial hair on the Card's relievers?
  11. The Cubs/Cards rivalry is the kind where they go out to drink together after the game? WTF are you talking about?
  12. What is Law's problem? So what if Rizzo is repeating at age 22; he's still young for the league. It's like anytime a Cub prospect is doing anything positive, Law finds a way to dismiss it.
  13. This makes me so incredibly sad.....I have the biggest Moore man crush.
  14. I don't care if Fielder hits 50 this year, that contract was horrible and I'm thrilled the Cubs aren't stuck paying it.
  15. I'll take Chapman at his low low reliever trade price.
  16. Am I wrong on being turned off by Appel? It's great that he's got the body type and profile to be a top tier starter, but when do we start wondering if he's ever going to miss bats at a decent rate? Maybe it's unjustified, but if I'm taking a guy in the top couple picks I want someone who doesn't have such a big question mark.
  17. Thibs needs to start sitting Deng a lot more often. He has been absolutely terrible since his injury. Another week of this and he's going to be shooting under 40% on the year which is completely unacceptable.
  18. I think there is a very real possibility that the area surrounding Wrigley doesn't survive the celebration.
  19. It's really depressing how sad that commercial made me feel....
  20. Welp, mineaswell drop 15M on him then. We have no way to know what Molina is worth, using the normal saber-tools. So to argue for or against $15M based on sabermetrics makes one look kinda foolish. So basically if we don't agree with your assessment of sabermetrics we're foolish? No one is saying they're perfect, but they're a lot more accurate than "the eye test" especially when we have a as many years to reference as we do for Molina.
  21. This may go down as one of the worst jump shooting performances of the year across all of the NBA. Absolutely horrific.
  22. Listening to Waddle and Silvy and apparently Braun's claim that his test was 3x higher than any positive test was a lie. He apparently had a 20:1 T/E ratio while they've seen as high as 70:1. In fact, Braun's result wasn't all that high as far as positive tests go.
  23. When all other logic fails it's time to resort to the "you're a jealous hater" response made so popular by quality programming like Jersey Shore. Well done Brewer fan, well done.
