  1. Zero interest in Porcello; I'd rather have a lottery then pick up a guy with #5 ability and seemingly no more projection.
  2. Guthrie is just absolutely horrifically bad. Brett Cecil could do whatever Guthrie could do and that's free.
  3. Chicago reporters are awesome. No one asks a thing about Lahair not pinch hitting, but they sure as hell hit up castro's error as soon as they could. He'll be chased out of town in the next couple years because the media will convince the fans that he's lazy and a clubhouse cancer.
  4. I don't hate Sveum, but that was pretty damn awful right there.
  5. I changed the channel the second it was brought up. I don't want to go to bed angered by stupidity.
  6. Maybe I'm wrong, but why was that Castro's fault on Ortiz's FC? It looked to me like Valbuena wasn't even over to 2B yet so Castro didn't have a choice but to take it himself.
  7. Astros signed McCullers for 2.5M. What a great draft they had.
  8. He'll probably be up, not that I really want him to be at this point. It'll be a September call-up. Why would you not want him up then? When his K rate is already headed in the wrong direction, I hardly feel like it's good for his progress to put him into a scenario where he's likely going to K even more.
  9. He'll probably be up, not that I really want him to be at this point.
  10. The two biggest ones are still unsigned; is there any chance that the Almora negotiations are holding up the Underwood deal?
  11. Is it still not possible if Russell is included? There have been reports that multiple teams have been interested. I don't dislike Eovaldi, but I'd much rather have Lee and Beliveau could probably perform pretty close to on par with Russell. Dempster/Russel for Lee/R.Patterson would make me pretty happy.
  12. and yet a person I know told me just last night that he's not even a good hitter, all he does is walk.
  13. I seriously can't believe not one of their starters panned out so far. When they had a farm with Tillman, Matusz, Arrieta and Britton all tearing up the minors I thought for sure their rotation was going to be absolutely filthy by now.
  14. Would could the Oriole's possibly offer for Dempster? Their farm pretty much dies off entirely after Bundy/Machado/Schoop. Matusz is about the only thing I can think of and that isn't all that thrilling.
  15. As was said, 20% is really where you want to be. I can't imagine his numbers would be very impressive in an offense suppressed FSL with a 25% K rate.
  16. I can honestly say there is not a single White Sox prospect that isn't from the 2012 draft, that I would want for Dempster. Is Cody Buckel from the Texas Rangers unrealistic? Still only in High A, but you can't argue with those numbers.
  17. Trying not to get my hopes up, but this farm desperately needs a break through pitcher or two.
  18. That was actually painful to read; the entire time I reading that I was simultaneously cringing and feeling embarrassed on the writer's behalf.
  19. Brad Eldred, he's over 30 years old. Nothing to see there. meh I figured it was some minor league journeyman Zuleta type. Who's he tied with? Same type? He's tied with elite prospect Wil Myers of the Royals. He's a top 10 guy at this point, maybe even top 5.
  20. I am so sick of hearing about how so and so is a very good NL pitcher but would get rocked in the AL, or so and so is an average AL pitcher but would dominate the NL. If there is even a half run difference I would be surprised.
  21. Oh god, announce it already or I wont get to find out until tomorrow night.
  22. I mean... it'd be better if the number weren't huge. well yeah, but it's not like if he gets 40M instead of 30M that I'm going to wish we hadn't signed him. Unless this signing keeps the Cubs from signing someone like Hamels, then I don't see any reason to be remorseful about the amount spent. Of course this is all pending the result.
  23. Why is that unfortunate? If it's not eating up the ability to go after FA's next year then whatever.
