    Could not be happier with this trade. Vizcaino has an absolutely elite upside. Even if he can't make it as a starter he's a really good bet for a closer type.

    The best deal is to now extend him. And I was in the trade Garza camp. But only if we could have gotten a teams #1 and #2, + 2 more in the top 20. That didn't happen so now is the time to extend him. They should not extend him. It all depends. If he'll sign for 15M a year then I'm game, but if he he wants 18+ then it's time to move him.

    Please god don't let him be headlining this deal. I'd rather have just maliciously hung onto Dempster then picked up this package of crap and let him have his way.

    I hope he rides the bench the rest of the year; I'd rather he do that then grant his wish of sending him to the Dodgers. That makes absolutely no sense. Why not? He ruined the Delgado trade and destroyed all the leverage with the Dodgers. Unless they offer a decent package, I don't want him to see the field again.

    As far as I'm concerned he can sit. I have no problems with guys not wanting to move, but when Demp is talking about how he's willing to be traded and do what's best for the club, that's a completely different story.

    I wonder if Demp is "taking his time" in hopes that the Braves call off the deal or make another deal so that he won't look like the bad guy. He denies responsibility and then he pretty much has to be dealt to LA which is the only place he seems to want to go.

    Trying not to go full blown meatball, but if the deals goes from Delgado to Gould, I will certainly be less than pleased; this is especially true if the reports that Demp was ok with ATL and also told Brave's players he'd like to play with them were true.

    I know it's pretty much inevitable at this point, but I'm just not a particularly big fan of any of the Dodgers' prospects. Of the teams that have been rumored, they're easily my least favorite trading partner.

    Interesting. They that the reason we're trying to expedite a Dempster trade is to focus on a Garza trade, but could the could the actual reason be to acquire some prospects worth flipping to Arizona? Castro should be nowhere near the table. However, Darwin Barney and/or Junior Lake could be enticing pieces to a deal. However, we'd need a few much more exciting pieces as the centerpieces. Brett Jackson or Matt Szczur could be one of them. Obviously, neither would be the main piece, which could come from the Dempster return. I'd be all for moving Castro, of course I'd need Skaggs to be added to Upton which surely wont happen.

    I was only lukewarm on him before this season, I just don't get the hype to be honest. I mean with Teheran I can at least see that the stuff is there, though the results aren't overwhelming this year. Garza for Olt/Buckel would make me pretty happy. Getting Loux in that deal would make me ecstatic.

    I think I like Owens more than anything the dodgers are going to offer. A lefty with a crazy K rate makes me irrationally happy.

    I'd love to land Owens or Lavarnway. I can't imagine that Bogaerts/Barnes/JBJ are on the table.

    Unless it's Smyly, Gould and Withrow seems to be the best rumored so far. I'd be pretty happy with that.

    You have the Cubs giving up and taking a similar prospect which basically means they're getting Chase Headley for a couple months of Dempster and Russell. Then the Padres are giving away their best two trade chips a reliever and a good, but not great, prospect. I'd say the Padres are getting screwed pretty hard. They'd want more than that just from Headley alone.

    Am I wrong, or is 4 pitchers not seeing the fielder considerably more than usual? Isn't it usually like 1, maybe 2?

    Darvish almost has to pitch; I would think there would be a pretty big uproar if he didn't.
