    Somewhat unrelated, but the more I think about Dempster being excluded from the ASG the more I'm baffled. He leads the NL in ERA and he's second to only Jered Weaver in baseball. Another case of people thinking W's actually mean something?

    I just can't fathom Gausman being one of the top 2 picks next year. Is that extra year of risk really work one, maybe two slots?

    Pretty bummed out by Almora taking up just about every last cent. I was really hopeful they would land at least one more difficult sign.

    yup, any kind of momentum Marmol has built up lately is completely gone. How a professional pitcher can't throw a ball straight is completely beyond me.

Puig has ROY locked up in 2013, is a perennial 30/30 guy and in 2014 is just about on par with Kemp. Good god, even for BR this is awful.

    Vitters is now coming off a May and June where he has OPSed .884 and .970 respectively. That's a combined .927OPS over the last two months.

    I'd prefer keep him as well, but I can't see paying him the 18M or more he'd be seeking on an annual basis. I'm not sure I'd be comfortable going anymore than 15M annually.

    This would be big; probably the biggest ceiling of any of the guys outside of Almora.

    Agreed on Matusz, the velocity has been inconsistent and for the second year in a row he's getting absolutely teed off on. I'm not even sure I'd want him to headline a Dempster deal let alone a Garza deal.

    I agree with the disdain on pretty much any O's package outside of the very unrealistic ones involving one of Bundy/Machado. Taking formerly high ranked prospects who failed is a strategy you use for someone of Dempster's value, not Garza's. With that said, if they offered up Britton and one of Arrieta/Matusz with a couple other specs then I'd be at least somewhat intrigued.

    How big is Torreyes, and how big is he expected to get? What position do most see him ending up at (I know he's only 19 and it's still a guessing game at this point)? Torreyes is a little guy, 5-9 at the most. He's a 2B now and a 2B he will stay. This reminds me, have we heard anything about Torreyes' defense this year? I know he was touted as a very good gold glove caliber defender going into this year.

    I think this has disaster written all over it. Nearly 150% of what Soler got and I haven't heard anyone say his ceiling is even close. Of course then again I've seen Puig scouting reports that contradict each other all over the place. Some where he has plus plus power, some where he's just a so so talent, some where he's the fastest player in Cuban baseball.

    I'm on the KC bandwagon; Odorizzi, Montgomery, Cuthbert sounds great to me.

    If Bronson Arroyo no hits a team, then I'm convinced something needs to be done. Of course I thought the same thing after Humber's perfect game. He has to be amongst the worst pitchers to ever toss one.
