  1. I really hope in the near future that draft picks are made tradeable assets.
  2. Let's not forget this year's team anomaly, being on pace for 36 pinch hit home runs.
  3. If we're close to the deadline and Baez and Soler still haven't gotten it together on a consistent basis I'd make a move for a bat, otherwise a dominant lefty reliever is the only move I really see necessary. Edwards' eventual appearance in the bullpen should bolster that and there's just no reason to go after a starter right now. I feel so much more confident with Lackey pitching a game 3 than I did with 2nd half Hammel/Hendricks last year.
  4. Piscotty is batting .489 with RISP, .286 with no one on. How one team manages all these statistical anomalies I will never understand.
  5. Julio Urias made his debut and it wasn't pretty. 2 2/3IP 5H 3ER 4BB 3K 42Strikes/39Balls He's honestly lucky it wasn't worse because he was missing every pitch up in the zone.
  6. Huh? They want the Cardinals to bring up top 10 prospect Alex Reyes so he can save the season.
  7. oh my god I thought Rondon was going to throw it away
  8. Don't give Grichuk anything over the plate, he'll get himself out.
  9. Of course it's horsefeathering Molina who is going to be the one to give the killing blow.
  10. Grimm threw 6 pitches, why did he need to be replaced again?
  11. Heyward needs to be batting 8th, this is getting real old.
  12. Sure would be nice if we had a lefty reliever who could get lefties out.
  13. I think Hill is going to be fairly costly, there just isn't going to be much pitching at the trade deadline unless you want to gamble on guys like Teheran, a struggling Gray, etc. The 2017FA market is going to be even worse and Hill might be the best pitcher available. At the rate he's going you'd have to think the As would give him a qualifying offer if he continues to pitch decently. I wouldn't be surprised if it took one of the top 5 and another in the top ten.
  14. It depends. Do you mean "be upset?" Or do you mean "whine incessantly?" Yeah I mean I made like what, 4 posts in the game thread. God forbid I question a team that's busy coughing up all that early season lead they built up.
  15. 2-6 over the last 8 and one game away from losing 4 of their last 5 series. Still not appropriate to be upset with what's going on?
  16. So little faith in Warren. Not because I think he'll get rocked, but because I feel like it's 50/50 he walks the guy.
  17. I'm not sure what's more ridiculous, the year they hit damn near .350 as a team with RISP or that they're on pace to hit 36 pinch hit homeruns this year.
  18. I noticed it too, half his forearm is covered in whatever.
  19. For me this is best case scenario, assuming no one does any type of crazy slide based on demands or whatever. God I sure would love for the Cubs to get a go at fixing Hansen though. I pray he's not there for the Cardinals at 23.
  20. It feels like Bryant is going the other way with the ball less and less, even though Fangraphs says he's only going 6% less than last year. When he was in the minors it felt like his HRs were an even split between left and right field.
