  1. These guys go 3 weeks at a time without seeing their families, I fail to see how the kid being in the club house is hurting anyone. Not to mention a 14 year old now knows that the White Sox didn't want himn around and his Dad left baseball because of it. I get that and I certainly don't see an issue allowing his kid around a lot of the time, but by the sounds of it he was there all the time. I get why other players, coaches or FO guys may want to have some times with no kids around. The logical conclusion of this seems to be somewhere in the middle of what LaRoche was doing and what the White Sox requested. They didn't say they were putting a complete ban on him being around, just to not do it 100% of the time. It's not like he's the little kid from a League of Their Own, at 14 I'm sure he's at least reasonably sane around adults.

  3. OH literally has a 90 page thread where the same 3 things are said over and over. Dexter is a liar and used the Orioles, Theo is scum for poaching Dexter and Close is a liar both in regards to the trade and the statement he issued. There's also a good number of wishing ill on Fowler physically and financial as well as Cub hating.
  4. Pedro Alvarez is also a good fit there. AJ Reed should be up by July and that kid can absolutely rake.
  5. I know it's actually the 28th pick, but what are the Sox thinking? They are making moves like a contender, but don't upgrade the OF or team OBP or really defense. Shockingly Fowler would be a rather large upgrade for the Sox for what appears to be a very manageable contract. How are they not making this move? The majority over on WSI seem to be in agreement with their FO. It's baffling to refuse to give up the 28th pick for a 3fWAR upgrade at one position when you're in a division as tight as that one.
  6. Hopefully he fairs a bit better than our last tool shed(Junior Lake), wherever he may be.
  7. I can't believe the White Sox aren't all over Fowler. They got .1fWAR out of RF last year and he'd give them an instant 2.5 to 3fWAR upgrade. For 3/30 that's that's an incredible deal.
  8. Here's the full list. http://www.turnerpublishing.com/files/uploads/BP-101Prospects.pdf
  9. Well this sucks on two levels. I wanted McGee for the Cubs and I'm sure Honeywell is likely going to COL which makes him useless in my dynasty league.
  10. I'm not all that interested in Lazarito. I'd much rather take Morejon and Ruiz and the money would likely be even.
  11. Well we may not be the favorites to land Morejon anymore which is really disappointing. It looks like he might wait until next period to sign. http://www.baseballamerica.com/international/adrian-morejon-highlight-video/
  12. So the Orioles are bringing back the same 81 win team as last year minus Chen and plus a whole lot of payroll and minus any semblance of a farm. Sounds like a great winning strategy.
  13. Going to be hard to get motivated and learn all the names when the Cubs may even end picking until the second round.
  14. What would you do with Schwarber/Soler? Trade one? Trade them both for Stanton. I might get railed for it, but I wouldn't make that trade unless MIA was willing to eat one hell of a lot of money. You should be, Stanton is the man. Guy was on pace for 60 HRs last year. Guy is also making a stupid amount of money. You realize that you could have Strasburg/Soler/Schwarber in 2017 instead of just Stanton, right?

  16. SFG has had a really good offseason. Not sure if FGs agrees or not, but they're pretty clearly the #2 team in the NL right now.
  17. What would you do with Schwarber/Soler? Trade one? You'd have to find someone who would give you good value for Soler, so any kind of move would kind of hinge on being able to do that.
  18. With the seeming lack of market for hitters this offseason, does Fowler come back to the Cubs? We know they offered him a 2 year deal this offseason but he wanted more years. With guys like Gordon,Cespedes and Upton struggling to get 4 or 5 year deals, things can't be looking good for Fowler. I'd take him on a one year deal where he can't be offered a QO in 2017.
  19. Brendan Ryan was never going to be on the active roster, so it has as much bearing on Baez as releasing Olmos did earlier. Well as of right now the only people capable of playing SS are Baez and Russell.
  20. Safe to say Baez isn't going anywhere anymore.
  21. With Glasnow,Taillon and Bell likely to join their roster anywhere from opening day to the trade deadline, this seems like a foolish thought. Deciding to wait on those guys and see how they contribute rather than devote resources to filling the glaring MLB holes that they'll, at varying points, attempt to fill with those guys is exactly where the "semi-punt" part comes in. At least, that's where I think he was going. I just don't like it because I think they're 2 moves from a top 3 team in the NL. They're like one Kazmir away from a very good rotation of Cole/Liriano/Kazmir/Glasnow/Niese and offense of 1B:Bell 2B:Kang SS:Mercer 3B:Harrison C:Cervelli RF:Polanco CF:McCutchen LF:Marte that's a SS or 3B away from a 90-95 win team.
  22. With Glasnow,Taillon and Bell likely to join their roster anywhere from opening day to the trade deadline, this seems like a foolish thought.
  23. No stats to back it up, but he seems to absolutely destroy the Cubs each and every time they play. Hopefully it's just Blackmon.
  24. I really don't think he's any better than the options STL already has. The one thing he does bring is an ability to eat innings and the others like Cooeny,Gonzales, etc don't have.
  25. Far more worried about the defense than the bat. He's going to mash.
