    They can be aggressive if it's multi year pieces, but yeah anyone like Eduardo Rodriguez, Josh Hader, etc. they have no business in being in on.

    Really the QO only matters for mid tier free agents, it's almost a non factor for the guys like Bellinger who are looking at 150-200M pay days.

    That and their farm, even pre trade, was absolutely terrible. If Ohtani leaves they were looking at several years of rebuild whether they traded him or not.

    Of course trade could be involved, it was a 30 second post to show that they very easily could get there. Also, that 31 year old Matt Chapman is playing at a 5.5/162 fWAR pace this year.

    Correct, but I also don't expect Taillon to be near as bad. So while the added FA pitcher probably wont be as good as Stroman was, 2024 Taillon will likely be substantially better than 2023 Taillon

    If they're on 82 win pace next year something has gone terribly wrong and Jed is probably gone following the season.

    Point made, but you're severely underselling Quero. He's 20 years old in AA with a 17.1 BB% and and 16.5% and while the SLG hasn't showed up this year, he had a .530 at age 19 in A last year.

    They had better not pull another stunt where the Russian athletes get to go under a different name like that Olympics a few years ago. I believe it was "Russian Olympic Committee" or some nonsense which basically made the punishment worthless.

    I actually kind of think that with Stroman pitching so badly over this stretch that maybe we've reached the point where the return isn't going to be worth not giving it a go for the division.

    Take 3 of 4 and they're definitely in buyer's territory, maybe even 2-2. 1-3 or 0-4 and it's game over.

    Syndergaard for Amed Rosario was an interesting trade. If anyone can get Syndergaard right it's Cleveland.

    In the Royal's game today, they had 10 guys get plate appearances. Only 2 of the 10 had an OBP .300 or over and those 2 were .322 and .346.

    Zach Eflin is getting an MRI on his knee after today's start. Even if they add Lynn, they may need to add another arm now.

    I liked Len and Deshaies the most and Boog is growing on me, but there's a special place in my heart for Boog and Girardi. I just absolutely love how openly he dislikes Girardi.

    Was it Wittenmayer or Kaplan that was always negative about Aramis being lazy and constantly raving about Ryan Theriot?

    He's not going to turn what's likely going to be like a 4/100 or 5/125 deal in FA to stay with the Cubs on a 1/21 deal. I don't care how much he likes Chicago.

    I'm pretty sure he's making fun of the fact that you're so down on Mervis being 25 and yet in this scenario you're hyping this prospect who likely doesn't see the bigs until 25, if at all.

    If Wiggins or Sanders goes the way of Horton, I will completely cease second guessing any pitching draft picks.
