  1. I sold my four season tickets on stubhub for $41 each today, face was $81. I thought at the start of the season after the Packers and Cowboys game this would net the most return. I don't want to sit in traffic for 3 hours from the NW burbs and watch a shitty game. Rather go to a bar and pay for $3 shitty beer than $9.25 really shitty beer.
  2. Toews traveling with the team to Long Island.
  3. When will Virginia die? Nothing will really change much until that happens(the kids selling the team to Ryan). What a joke, they can fire Trestman, even Emery(which I doubt) but the big picture will never change.
  4. Hawks are gonna get fined for letting him play after the hit. Q said he seemed ok after, but I would not be shocked if he missed this weekend's games.
  5. With understanding that hockey is terrible. Hockey isn't terrible, now the NBA is hot garbage. I find it funny that people that hate hockey find the NBA entertaining. Its like the people who hate an unknown Italian bistro but love Olive Garden.
  6. FWIW. Vegas has updated their over under win totals for 2015. The Cubs are now at 89.5 up from 82.5 before Lester.
  7. I hate 84 more than 89 but both were gut punches. I am 37 now, so my memories were fairly vague of 84 but I still to this day remember my dad saying "[expletive] 1969 all over again" "[expletive] Leon Durham". In 2003 I said something similar about Alex Gonzalez. 37? I'm 41 and I sometimes get '84 & '87 events mixed up. I remember being more excited for '84 probably because the Cubs hadn't been division winners prior in my lifetime. Also the 1983 White Sox just happened. 87 Dawson won MVP on a last place team. Even though they stunk still a fun summer. Was that the year Dawson got plunked in the face by Eric Show(sp?) and charged the mound?

  9. Someone offered me $150 a ticket for my four season tickets to this game back in September. I declined :banghead:
  10. Problem with trading Morin is he likely wont get better than a 5th round pick in return. He will be very valuable next year if the cap does not go up or not go up enough. Much more valuable than a 5th round pick. That being said the board of governors are meeting this week and they expect that the cap will be between 72-74 million next year. http://espn.go.com/blog/nhl/post/_/id/33442/expansion-on-board-of-governors-agenda-but-dont-expect-anything-big The salary cap: This is the annual meeting during which the league gives clubs their first projected number for next season's salary cap. It's a projection, not an exact number, but normally it gives teams enough direction in order to plan ahead for next season. There has been much hand-wringing among some of the bigger-market, high-spending clubs that the salary cap isn't quite going up as much as they thought it was going to, which is leaving them pressed up against the ceiling trying to juggle how to re-sign and keep their core together. Montreal Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin pointed to the uncertainty of the cap when he talked about dealing away Travis Moen and later Rene Bourque, both of whom carry contracts that go beyond this season. Still, what governors will be told by the league leadership this week is that despite all the concern, as long as there isn't any significant change (downward) in the Canadian dollar between now and June 30, the salary cap next season is projected to be somewhere between $72 million and $74 million, up from the current $69 million. The governors will actually get a more precise figure though a source told ESPN.com it should be in that range.
  11. I haven't checked in about a week but goal differential should be close to 30 by now?
  12. That was a nice win! [expletive] the Blues and [expletive] the cesspool that is St Louis
  13. Puck Daddy kinda makes it sound that way http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/corey-crawford-hurts-foot-leaving-concert--out-2-3-weeks-185214708.html He was probably either in a mosh pit and or drunk
  14. The concert Crawford got injured at was Rise Against at the House of Blues on Monday.
  15. I hope it is not serious. Seabrook is sick and Sharp is out at least one more game as well.
  16. And here is some good news. http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2014/12/01/nhl-still-expects-healthy-rise-in-the-salary-cap/?utm_network=facebook&utm_post=3215995&utm_source=FB+-+NHL+on+NBC+Sports&utm_tags
  17. Its not a long week when playing Dallas the following Thursday.
  18. I guess I don't understand why. Line blocking a little worse? Yeah. Jeffery with a step down? Yup. Marshall having a down year? Yup. But those can't account for the 2nd best offense in the league turning into somewhere in the late teens. Is it on Cutler? Trestmans play calling? Or a combo of a lot of things. It's rather perplexing. The league has figured out Trestman's offense and Trestman doesn't know how or have a counter move.
  19. Hawks put up a touchdown in Edmonton.
  20. Calgary is 12-7-2 somehow. Their shooting percentage is very high, tell your friend to watch where the Flames end up in the standings. It will probably be 10th or worse. Also see Colorado last year to this year.
  21. I don't know why it should. The team has regressed for quite a while. Maybe the McCaskey's will see the ridiculously long leash that Epstein got and knowing their cash flow isn't a problem they will feel comfortable with the status quo. But that is just further delaying the inevitable. I want an overhaul. Just curious, does your overhaul stop at Emery? If you're decided to can Emery the ax needs to cut a little deeper still. I would dump Phillips but do not think that is necessarily necessary for football improvement purposes. They should do with Phillips what the Cubs did with Crane Kenny. Add me to the camp that wants a full overhaul, its a lot quicker turnaround than in baseball. I just wish the Bears would have rebuilt the offense around 2009 when Cutler got here and the defense was still good.
  22. Shaw OUT tonight with an upper body injury(probably sore hand from the fight vs Dallas)
  23. If they had a better radio signal maybe it would have been more successful?
