  1. http://www.hockeysfuture.com/team-rankings The bigger question facing the Hawks is whether there are any true first / second line and first pairing players there. When Hossa goes he will probably be backfilled by a FA, as he essentially replaced Havlat. The bigger question is Sharp and whether Saad steps into that role or Teuvo is so good at C that Saad doesn't have to score that much. The Hawks should be fine for a very long time. Stan drafts well (though he's not setting the world on fire at goalie or wing) and he's generally done a nice job in making trades that yield good results (including Versteeg, by the way). The brewing problem is Q's reliance on veterans and seeming unwillingness to let young guys get the minutes they need to develop (TVR, Morin, Leddy (when he was here), Rundbland, etc.). We'll see. Other than TT, they don't have much top end talent. 2016 and 2017 might look a bit like 2011 and 2012, due to the cap problem next year, that's assuming it goes up 5 million. It might go up more but this year its increase was less than expected. Hawks will lose Oduyla, Sharp, and maybe even Seabrook. Will the drop off be that great?
  2. It's a stretch to call him a star. And he was the only guy to trade and potentially get back a haul. The haul wasn't there, other teams knew the Hawks were against the cap. If Stan found a deal I'm sure he would have been gone. But that being said the cap crunch coming Im glad they kept Sharp for another Cup run. Probably wont make a serious run again until 2018. Probably won't make a serious run again until 2018, LOL. As long as they have Toews, Kane, Hossa (if he doesn't rapidly age), and Keith, they've got a chance every year. Their depth will be gone. LOL
  3. 6th best is about right. I would go Toews Keith Kane Hossa Hammer Sharp

What are you going on about? Saying that keeping Sharp was the right move to win another cup this season. Summer of 2015 will be bad, not quite as bad as 2010. And Sharp is a star.

  6. For anyone who wants to watch the press conference again https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HSgLKQDsQ0
  7. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2014/11/04/the-bernstein-brief-well-always-have-pensacola/ I knew his Grandfather helped write Casablanca, but when he said "We will always have Pensacola" I didn't get it while watching the press conference. Nice catch by Bernstein.
  8. Hooray Curtis Enis. The Bears would have drafted Ryan Leaf instead of Manning.
  9. I'm sure the Bears will [expletive] it up in the 2nd half and finish 7-9 or even 8-8. Split with Detroit and Minnesota(2-2) split with Dallas and New Orleans(1-1) beat Tampa and of course lose to GB.
  10. Check out vegasinsiders, Cubs are at 25-1 as of this morning(I cant check at work, firewall) they are in line with most of the strip hotels. Shop around, some might be closer to 50-1.
  11. 99% sure Raanta is waiver exempt. Right, Myers was saying the other day Raanta does not have to clear waivers. Moot issue though, or at least it should be. Hmm, Committed Indian must be wrong. I would think Darling would be sent down anyway to get more playing time than he would as Crawford's backup.
  12. On a positive note their Goals against is very promising. Aside from the damn shorthanded goals they have given up already. Three
  13. The Blackhawks thru 9 games this season have scored 21 goals, last season they started off slow as well with 24 thru 9 games. Not too worried.
  14. That message board is a snapshot of the Sox fanbase as a whole. They always have had an inferiority complex with the Cubs, even after winning in 2005.
  15. If the Cubs were to have a WS clincher at home, I would think SRO would be at least $2500. All those retired blue hairs from Iowa have money. Hopefully we find out within the next 4 years.
  16. I think Raanta has to clear waivers if he were to be sent down to Rockford. Probably want another look at Darling. They know what they have with Raanta. When Crawford is back later this week I would think Darling gets sent back.
  17. Darling gets the start tonight. Crawford will travel with the team to Ottawa.
  18. This is great! If it does happen I'm sure it will be after the WS ends.
  19. Plus the Foo Fighters new TV show on HBO is outstanding. Chicago was last week, this week is DC
  20. For you guys that got tickets especially if you got GA, I would expect the secondary market to be very good. $75 seats should go for $250 or more. The lineup is outstanding Naked Raygun Urge Overkill Cheap Trick Foo Fighters Foo Fighters are probably my thrid favorite of the four.
  21. I had 20 windows open didn't get thru until 10:26, only had singles left in 229. Passed.
  22. I think Nashville might be last year's Colorado. Richards and Seabrook had bad games, but they lost, I will take 4-1-1 every six games.
  23. This is from what Pat Foley said during last night's broadcast "Get the red out" I didn't hear it, I missed the beginning of the game and the first half of the third. From the Committed Indian: http://thecommittedindian.com/dead-voices-james-neal-3-blackhawks-2/ ◾Foley mentioned this a bit.. The Preds instituted a “keep the red out” policy for the game. I think that means you had to buy tickets to a second non-Chicago game in order to get these tickets (probably still cheaper than a single ticket to the UC) but they also gave a bag of popcorn to anyone wearing a yellow sweater. Foley also mentioned you would get two tickets if you turned in a Hawks shirt or cap too. Did I hear that right? That can’t be right, can it? I mean.. this piece of [expletive] costs less than a dollar http://www.ebay.com/itm/Creative-sz-L-XL-NHL-CHICAGO-BLACKHAWKS-Reversible-100-Cotton-Bucket-Hat-/131328259240?pt=U_Hockey_Fan_Shop&hash=item1e93c634a8. Would that have got me two tickets?
  24. Do they still do that? I know they tried not selling to Hawks fans last year, but they ditched that plan, right? The way I understood it, to get Hawks tickets you either had to be a season ticket holder, or if you bought from ticketmaster you had to also purchase a non Hawks game ticket. Still doesn't stop someone who is a Preds fan from selling on Stub Hub or Ebay. Still comes out cheaper for Hawks fans to buy on the secondary market, than buying home Hawks tickets. Plus Nashville is an 8 hour drive and a very fun city to visit.
