  1. Interesting Nashville 89pts 66 games played St Louis 85pts 64 games played Chicago 83pts 65 games played Minnesota 79pts 65 games played Hawks can finish anywhere from 1st to 4th. Kane is out, but they appear to have the easiest schedule of the four teams. Plus they play St Louis twice in last week of season.
  2. I am listing mine on there now. But they don't allow instant download yet. Not sure how that works should they sell as I did the print at home option
  3. Ha true! I met him and Boers last fall at Bannerman's in Bartlett during one of their shows leading up to the Bears-Jets MNF game. He is every bit the jerk in person as he is on the radio. Insulting people in the audience just like he does with the callers. Although maybe the people in the audience are as stupid as his callers? He and Boers were out the door the second the show ended.
  4. I got two in 235 for opening night. I had 10 windows open, because work got in the way. Usually I have 30 windows going on two different computers. Got in on two windows right away. Damn, $59 face value but after fees the total came to just over $146
  5. Reinsdorf sucks, plus Miller has a roof that will eliminate rain outs which would be impossible to make-up with 162 home games all in the same season. Plus, I would not be surprised if gate revenues would be likely higher from Miller rather than Reinsdorf's stadium. For a whole season I doubt it. A lot of fans in the northern suburbs can make it to Miller in an hour or less but for an entire season there is no way they would reach the revenue at the Cell. Could they even get 5K Cub fans to buy season tickets at Miller park?
  6. It begs the question: is a team like Calgary better off missing the playoffs and improving their draft position? There's no way they beat Van and whoever beats the Ducks. It's a long shot but they could still win the lottery with f they miss the playoffs. Only the bottom 5 teams are eligible for the lottery I believe.
  7. I pulled up opening day tickets for the 12 game package. Might have to pull the trigger as I plan on going to 10-15 games this year anyway.
  8. I feel like a huge idiot for passing on the MC pre-sale now. I was foolishly hoping to get some during the regular STH presale to sell figuring the 15% premium might be too ambitious to set out to beat in the secondary market. The hype is out there. So I take it nothing for opening day will be available on Friday during the general public sale? I forgot all about the MC presale. Just looking at Stubhub at least now the markup seems to be 50% over face value already.
  9. Pretty good game tonight. Rosival a star of the game. I don't think that's happened since the Bush administration. The first Bush.
  10. Right, I get that but I just don't see that as being a good deal. It seems to me that they were always going to be able to give Smith away for nothing if they wanted, and that is what they did here. I just saw that it now frees up space to keep Teuvo on the roster since the Sharks are taking on 50% of the salary
  11. This summer won't be as bad as 2010, but they will lose someone like Sharp and or Bickell, depending on how much the cap goes up.
  12. Yep. Looks like a good deal to me. Really? What about it looks good? They traded a decent young guy essentially for the right to not have to employ him next year. I guess if you think Smith is absolutely worthless then this could be perceived as good. He is replaceable, as was said before they need to resign Saad. Smith was only useful on the PK, and they have Vermette now. They were not going to pay Ben Smith 1.5 million next year.
  13. that's interesting draft pick? Mark Spector ‏@SportsnetSpec now In return for Ben Smith to San Jose, Chicago gets the Sharks' Andrew Desjardins #NHLTrade A 4th line center? For $750,000 in salary cap relief? Also expiring contract. Yep. Looks like a good deal to me.
  14. Teuvo should play on the third line, move Shaw to take Smith's spot. But what do I know.

  16. Yeah but if playoff Bickell shows up maybe a 2nd. And if its to a bad team it will be a high 2nd pick which is really the same as where the Hawks would pick in the late 1st round this year. Edited: Troy freakin Brouwer fetched a 1st round pick in 2011. Bickell if he plays like playoff Bickell could as well.
  17. They will likely recoup the picks this summer when they trade off Sharp or Bickell.
  18. If they make the WCF with Kane back, they are unstoppable. Q now can let Toews take on the easier assignments with Vermette in the lineup. This sums it up nicely http://thecommittedindian.com/fertig-verfallen-verlumpt-verblunget-vermette/#more-12422
  19. I was behind the goal that Kane tied it in the 300 level, place was nuts! I remember thinking the Hawks still have over 4 minutes to kill but it seemed there was no way the Hawks were going to lose in OT. Then Hossa comes out of the box and scores the winner. On the way out of the Stadium I think I hurt my hand high fiving about 100 random people.
  20. Sopel kept this play alive https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNC8-PTTee0 The craziest game I have ever been to. They lose that game and 2010 could have turned out very different.
  21. Well he crushed by soul as a teenager in 1992 when they swept the Hawks during the SCF Likewise BTW, if they acquire Skinner and one of Petry or Yandle....well just watch the [expletive] out. Yup Something should be going down trade wise within the next 24 hours. Still think its Vermette. But any of those guys would be even better.

  23. Looks like they are clearing space in Rockford for a bigger move? In other news: The Panthers acquired Jagr from the Devils today. I think Jagr started playing in the NHL before the Panthers existed.
  24. I would think Bickell. Before the Kane injury I would have thought maybe Sharp too.
