  1. Seems to me Winnipeg got the better end of the deal here. The Central division just got that much tougher. Winnipeg will probably take one of the WC spots and be tough on either Nashville or Anaheim in the first round.
  2. This, and I would add ESPN.
  3. On the postgame show Toronto said the only feed they had was the Comcast Chicago feed, Arizona must not broadcast the game, Steve Konroyd said. Why can't the NHL have extra cameras around the goal for these exact situations?
  4. Good question, I do think if the ref called it a goal on the ice, it would have stood. Not enough evidence to overturn either way.
  5. The shootout is stupid. They might as well play beer pong for the extra point. The Hawks shot themselves in the foot time and time again. The game really turned on Kane's stupid unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. I know that was only his 2nd minor all season but you have to keep your cool. Also their PP sucked, and Duncan Keith seemed more intent on getting Hossa the hat trick than scoring himself in OT. I guess its regular season hockey, the Hawks just don't seem 100% mentally into it every night, especially after a long road trip and third game in four nights. They usually lose or get one point out of the first game back after a long road trip. Oh well, still 7 games left on this home stand. I had them going 6-1-1 on this home stand. They should bounce back Wednesday.

  7. Nashville looks like they will be tough to catch. Setting up another first round meeting with the Blues. The only question is which team will have home ice advantage. This is what I hate about the new playoff format, the Hawks and Blues could finish 2nd and 3rd in the conference and have to play each other in the first round. I think that was kind of the idea- to build rivalries by having the same teams play each other every year. I remember when they used to do this back in the 80's and 90's. I just don't like it as much as I did back then.

  9. I will be in Arizona 3-15 thru 3-22, have tickets for 3-17 and 3-21 in Mesa, might also see Cubs-Sox in Glendale on the 20th.
  10. Hell of a player but plagued by personal issues throughout his career. I think he came into the league same year as Patrick Kane, but could be mistaken.
  11. I just noticed the Kings are 5 points out of a playoff spot, with 4 teams ahead of them. Could be first defending champion to miss playoffs since the 2006 Hurricanes.
  12. Hawks still 5th in GF and 3rd in GA(teams ahead of them have played less games). Also 2nd in goal differential.
  13. Well they still are 4th in conference but 3rd in division. Looks like they will have not have home ice advantage in the first round again. Last year that was the only round they didn't. Who knows they have an 8 game home stand. Maybe they can go 6-1-1 or something like that. Its frustrating right now, but I still think its hard for any team to beat them in a 7 game series. They are a lot deeper than last year. Although Oduyla is a shell of his former self.
  14. Warren Sapp arrested for solicitation and assault. Also fired from NFL Network http://deadspin.com/cops-warren-sapp-arrested-for-soliciting-prostitute-a-1683309199
  15. I think the Hawks are better than the Kings this year, last night notwithstanding. The Hawks rolled 2.5 lines last year and were a fluke OT game 7 goal away from winning the Cup. Kings not as deep this year, and while I think they get in, as of now sit on the outside looking in.
  16. Crosby suspended one game for missing All Star Weekend.
  17. MLB all star game is the only slightly watchable all star game,(and that was still the case before they decided to make it decide home field advantage in the WS) I didn't realize this was the first hockey all star game since 2012. Lockout in 2013, Olympics last year
  18. Probably Target Field. Also Q thinks Versteeg will be out longer than anticipated with his broken hand.
  19. Per Chris Kuc, Patrick Sharp has given Patrick Kane assists on his 1st, 100th, and 200th NHL goals
  20. Much better 6-1 although it was the Coyotes. On to Pittsburgh tonight, than a week off for the all star break.
  21. Hawks have two games in hand though. To win the Cup the Hawks will have to go thru two of (STL,NSH, WPG) in the first two rounds anyway. Not really worried what spot it they end up in. Really did not matter much last year. Dumb question, but if the Hawks finish 4th and get the 1st WC spot, would they automatically play the division winner with the worst record, or would they try to match them up to their divison if possible? Hypothetical scenario to explain: C1 Nashville 110 C2 St Louis 108 C3 Winnipeg 105 WC1 Chicago 104 P1 Anaheim 109 P2 San Jose 106 P3 Vancouver 99 WC2 LA Kings 98 Do the Blackhawks play Anaheim and play in the Pacific bracket with the Kings moving over to play Nashville, or would they keep the divisions the same since one from each division won the WCs? WC1 would play Anaheim then stay in the Pacific bracket if they won their first round series. Yes in that scenario. And LA would play Nashville in the Central. You could have the Hawks winning the Pacific bracket while LA wins the Central and meet up in the WCF.
  22. those people exist? Yes probably 2/3 of them are callers into the Boers and Bernstein show.

  24. Went from 2 points out of the top spot in the West to tied for 6th pretty quick. Good thing is the Predators are without Rinne for 3-5 weeks. Not worried they are going thru their annual slump in mid January instead of March this year.
  25. Surprised the line is a pickem. Over under seems about right. Thought it would be Seattle -3 I guess the public sees the Seahawks needing a miracle, while the Patriots destroyed Indy. I think Seattle wins rather easily.
