    True, the travel would suck. Hawks will know tomorrow by about 5:30 if they need a point in Colorado or not as Minnesota plays at 2pm. Should be an interesting day.

    I know there is next to no chance of the Hawks playing the Ducks but if that happened and you got thru that, you would have a second round against one of Vancouver and Calgary. Then get to take on the tired winner of the Central.

    Yeah LA could be eliminated tonight. First time since the 2006 Hurricanes a team did not return to the playoffs the following year to defend their cup.

    "Asking 29 other team fans" argument is dumb, so is clinging on to the "two wrongs don't make it right argument" The original topic was about a goon like Reaves and what he brings to the game. Not sure why you would bring Duncan Keith into it.

    I guess you didn't take kindergarten where they taught that two wrongs don't make a right? That's what dirty players always do. They have some previous slight they use to justify it. It's a never-ending circle of retribution. Kindergarden? You are starting to sound like you graduated from there 5 years ago. Watch some more hockey and you will know the difference between Keith and someone who actually is a dirty player.

    The point being most of these guys Shaw, Carcillo, Reaves, Ott are players who don't contribute much on offense or defense they just go around looking to take someone's head off. Keith is a 2x Norris winner and future HOF'er. And no Keith is not a cheap-shotting [expletive] of the highest order. Not even close Intentionally went after another's team's skill player with an elbow to the head to try to take him out. One of the dirtiest plays I've ever seen a Hawk perpetuate. I guess you didn't watch that game and what led up to it? I think if they finish first Minnesota will knock them out so Reaves can wait another year for his revenge. Funny thing is they probably think we have so many tools between Seabrook, Shaw, Keith, Carcillo, etc Well, they're right about Shaw and Carcillo. And Keith. Not Keith

    Yup, he either takes a dumb ass penalty that resulted in the Blues first goal or he turns the puck over at the blue line resulting in a goal(Vancouver). This has been going on all year. Hopefully Timmo is back soon and in the playoffs by some miracle Rozsival is watching from the press box.

    First time since February 2010 that the Blues won in Chicago in regulation. I would prefer the Blues win the division and we play Nashville. Not that I don't think the Hawks can beat the Blues in a series, it would be nice not to go thru another grueling series with them.

    In 2021 this will all be water under the bridge. He will hopefully have two or three WS rings and love Chicago, but yes his contract will be very high but I don't think this will play any part of if he resigns with the Cubs or goes to the Yankees.

    Tonight the Hawks play in Buffalo who might be shooting the puck at their own net. St Louis is in Dallas. Good chance Hawks get to second place after tonight.

    Maybe but there are multiple cases of broken collarbones and the recovery time required. Kane coming back in round 1 would completely blow those return times away. Oh I agree. Right now its been five weeks to the day since surgery. Round one starts two weeks from tonight. That would be insanely fast.

    I could see him coming back for round 2 instead of round 3. But I highly doubt round 1. But on the off chance that he comes back for round 1 I am sure there will be cries from people saying the Hawks circumvented the cap with Kane's injury to get Vermette and Timonen.

    Great win! Those final standing predictions seem spot on. Calgary did just beat Dallas. LA is 3 points back now of the Flames but could also catch Winnipeg

    The Hawks need every ROW they can get. They lose that tie breaker to everyone they would likely be tied with except the Jets. Good point. But they could have won in OT, given Winnipeg a point and gotten an ROW. Don't get me wrong I'm fine with them winning in regulation. 2 points is 2 points! Just would love to see LA not make it. But in looking at the standings, LAs more concerned with finishing 3rd in the Pacific than the Wild Card. Beat LA in regulation tonight. They are on the outside looking in with Calgary beating Nashville. Hawks still can finish as high as first in the central or as low as second wild card.

    I did the Brian Campbell Poker for charity in 2011 at the Horseshoe. Every player gets a current Hawk at their table, I drew Nick Boynton. He was dating that Jen Patterson from the Mike North show at the time, and she kept coming over to him asking for a $100 bill to go play roulette. He finally got fed up after about the 5th time, and went off on her. They I believe are now married.

    Last year they slumped a little to the finish and were a bad bounce away from likely winning the Cup. That still makes me sad. Part of me would love the embarrassment of LA missing the playoffs but I would also love a path of defeating LA in the WCF then defeating whomever from the East.

    Finish 3rd, they get the Preds. Finish 1st, they get the Wild. Either way they'd have home ice against in a series against the Wild. The ideal spot is the #2 spot vs Nashville. They pissed away one of their games in hand last night.
