  1. Career IsoD = .056 This season IsoD = .111 That's incredible. Has he really changed his approach that much - is this sustainable?
  2. Only pitcher to have 200 wins and 150 saves, right? I go back and forth on how impressive that is as an accomplishment. I'll probably always remember him for his 2003 season. Just plain ridiculous, and overshadowed by Gagne. 383 ERA+ ... how does that even happen?
  3. Hairston and Patterson at the top of the lineup in front of the run producers? Dusty must be giddy beyond words.
  4. When's he gonna start pitching like it?
  5. Although I don't really see it happening, Penny is an option that intrigues me. Though the fact that he's struggling so much this year in a relatively pitcher-friendly park is disconcerting.
  6. Two nice starts from Samardzija is encouraging, I guess. Really digging deep for things to be pleased about.
  7. If he nets us Sabathia, I will not miss him Any Sabathia deal should hinge on him signing to an extention, otherwise he's not worth Pie. I disagree enormously, considering Sabathia would make us the favorites to win the World Series. But I don't want to clear out the farm (considering we'd have to send Hill, probably) for a rental. I'd want some long-term assurances. I'm generally opposed to expensive rentals, myself, but the team seems SO well built otherwise that it might just be the right year to do it.
  8. Marmol's delivery doesn't inspire confidence that he can be "abused" and not get hurt, either.
  9. Clevenger has been wildly disappointing this year.
  10. I'd like to see Hernandez pitching well post-juice before he makes it on any of these lists.
  11. He has not gotten hurt but he was getting much less effective Definitely. Z might be a horse, but any time he goes over 110 pitches, it still makes me very nervous.
  12. Two games does not a season make. His swing still looks incredibly slow to me. Here's hoping he's turning things around, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
  13. Oh, I thought I had read that it was a surprisingly accurate predictor (albeit two or three years out)?
  14. It will be interesting to watch his progress, but it seems a bit forward to say he "will" play SS in the Major Leagues.
  15. Zambrano will likely be a better pitcher than my dead cat. HUH? I think hes equating the production of a Johnson/Edmonds platoon to his dead cat, thereby confirming that Murton/Hoffpauir would indeed be better than Johnson/Edmonds, as is my understanding. But what does that have to do with Zambrano pitching? I think he's saying "Zambrano will be a better pitcher than my dead cat" (which is obvious), just as a Murton/Hoffpauir platoon would be better than a Johnson/Edmonds platoon (which he is saying is equally obvious).
  16. James Russell has been almost the lone bright spot in the system so far - hope he keeps it up.
  17. Soto is more deserving. It'd be a tough decision if only one could go... but if Marmol really is the best reliever in the NL, and Soto is even with McCann to be the best catcher in the NL... doesn't that indicate that Marmol should get the nod over Soto (again, with the understanding that only one could go)?
  18. Yep...and yet he still has a roster spot.... For how much longer? I mean, is there a set number of at bats that he's going to get before they decide the Edsperiment is a failure?
  19. That's what I want to know. Has there been a hidden "h" in there all along?
  20. Well, I guess it's a step in the right direction.
  21. Creepy. It's like the love we have for other good players on the Cubs. I don't find that creepy. I agree. I love Sean Gallagher. I love all the Cubs. Romantically.
  22. How many arb years does Wuertz have left? I don't expect him to be around after that.
  23. Marmol in his career as a starter - meh. Marmol in his career as a reliever - ridiculoawesome. Shrug.
  24. The one run that Gallagher did give up absolutely should have never been on base. Ump absolutely blew a third strike call. As far as I'm concerned, Sean gave up 0 earned.
  25. I miss Stoney. Maybe he shouldn't have been so brash, but everything he said was right on.
