    It's the NCAA's goal to ruin the best thing in sports. Who the hell is Jennifer Hudson? Jennifer Hudson is an American Idol I think, which makes this about 25 percent more ridiculous and stupid. She wa an Idol finalist who has gone on to be quite successful on Broadway. I think she's best known as the star of Dreamgirls.

    I remember 1985 as well. Eventually the entire starting staff was on the DL and they had AA-quality pitchers who never played in the majors again in their starting rotation. I'm sure everybody remembers Johnny Abrego and the like. Was that the year of the bad mayonaisse? That I don't remember..one year the whole rotation was out with food poisoning. I'm thinking Sanderson, Trout, that crew, but that Sut was already out with a real injury All of the pitchers were out due to injuries at the time I was thinking of, but it was possible they had food poisoning earlier in the season. For some reason I don't remember that.

    I just realized I haven't posted information yet. If necessary you can text me at 919-902-3718. One caveat: My cell phone gets good reception at home but it's spotty at work, so when I'm at work (which won't be until next week since this is our spring break) it's possible that I may not see the message right away.

    I've been a customer since 2003, so they damn well better give me the same thing. I haven't heard anything about that so far. i just got a postcard in the mail today about it. it'll be channels 700-705 Ah; maybe I'll get the postcard within the next day or so then.

    I seriously doubt Chapman will start the season in the majors. Scouts say he is very raw and does not have a secondary, nor does he have a feel for pitching. My guess is Chapman will begin in AA. If so he may pitch against the Smokies, since the Reds' AA team (Carolina) and the Smokies are in the same league. If so I'm so at that game, since Carolina plays less than an hour from my home (I'll undoubtedly go to a couple games anyway).

    The lawsuit in Minnesota to determine whether the NFL has the right to suspend players who test positive for banned substances began today.

    How to have good contract years and suck otherwise. Dude [expletive] owned it in '06 Yeah, I was getting his pattern backwards for some reason. It was his first year with a team that was good (at least until he joined the Cubs, where he was decent both years).

    FYI, I don't seem to have this pick in the draft order in the draft room. Did you remember to actually execute the draft pick part of the trade on Roadkill once the draft order was set?

    To the surprise of probably nobody the game against the Dodgers has also been rained out.

    At least he got the right sport with Rex. I do remember Lem Barney. He was playing with the Lions (I believe he was a defensive back) when I first started following football.

    If the Dodgers game is played (which seems doubtful from what I saw about the forecast) I wonder if the entire roster would be available. I also wonder if WGN will televise it since the game they were planning to televise is canceled.

    Apparently the Nationals were considering Marquis and Garland, and chose Marquis because Garland didn't want to mentor young pitchers.
