  1. ted lilly, aramis, derosa, barrett (offensively) also hahahaha @ "nuggets" Ted Lilly isn't really a nugget. He was a very good pitcher who pitched very well before during and after* being a Cub. *I assume. You assume correctly. 5-2, 3.33 ERA, 0.935 WHIP, 4.9 K/BB since joining the Dodgers.
  2. Bob Brenly was on him again tonight for taking too long to throw the ball to DeWitt when he dropped it for an error.
  3. Last time they did it Cris Carpenter was the Cardinals' starting pitcher; this time it was Chris Carpenter. Dateline 2032: Cubs beat Cardinals and starting pitcher Kris Carpenter to sweep series.
  4. From what I read they just gave him an extra night off to let him fully recover since tomorrow is an off-day anyway. I think he's expected to return to the lineup Friday.
  5. I was, then I moved from Kansas to Seattle. :-( This confuses me... Seattle is gorgeous and Kansas is, well, Kansas. I've been to Seattle, and it is very nice (especially since I went during the dry season). Kansas, I'll just say I've never been and I plan to keep it that way.
  6. Bob Sanders of the Colts has his annual potentially season-ending injury already. He seems to me to be the Colts' version of Mike Brown: A very good player whose talent isn't worth much because he can't stay on the field.
  7. That is your opinion, so by definition, it is questionable. Okay, without question from reasonable people. Well, apparently the Bears' coaching and front office disagree with you. He did say REASONABLE people, though. That rules out the Bears' brain trust. :D
  8. I think there's a good chance we see Quade as manager and Sandberg as bench coach. I think I could live with that.
  9. I'm on the same ledge. He was my first round pick (#10 overall) in one of my leagues. I claimed LT on waivers after someone else in the league dropped him and I think I have a good chance of getting him. That might soften the blow some.
  10. NO chance Kentucky actually gets the death penalty. It's been about 20 years since the last major violations in basketball. Postseason ban and scholarship reductions I could see, but not the death penalty.
  11. He just got traded to the Broncos. No word on what the Pats get. The Patriots traded Maroney and their 2011 6th round pick for the Broncos' 2011 4th round pick. http://sports.espn.go.com/boston/nfl/news/story?id=5572724
  12. He's better today and hopes to play next Sunday. http://www.wralsportsfan.com/panthers/story/8283607/ Doesn't he have to pass some sort of test before he can play due to the new concussion rules? Yes; I think that's a large part of why his return this coming week was worded as hopeful rather than probable.
  13. He's better today and hopes to play next Sunday. http://www.wralsportsfan.com/panthers/story/8283607/
  14. You could have covered yourself by saying S*a. :D
  15. James Madison got votes in the AP poll.
  16. Continuing today's theme of FBS teams losing to FCS teams, Ball State lost to Liberty 27-23. :-x
  17. When App. St beat Michigan didn't the AP poll make it so FCS teams could technically get ranked? If that's true maybe James Madison gets ranked. Yes, and ASU did at least get some votes.
  18. Your team must stink because I have no idea who your team is. The location shown in his profile is a good hint.
  19. Next year's scapegoat: The head usher. Or maybe it will be Roast. :D
  20. When Lee was traded, Hendry tried to recall Hoffpauir without the requisite 10 days after he had been demoted. I'd love to give Ricketts a copy of this "book." That should be grounds to fire Hendry; his not knowing that simple rule shows total incompetence. I remember many of us here were posting that he couldn't do it; we seem to know the rules better than he does.
  21. Make Fox the catcher (since that's where he started his career) and use both Pattersons in the OF.
  22. I'm impartial since I'm a playoff observer rather than participant, but I agree with Tim on this issue. I raised the issue last year and Juan agreed. Normally during the year a team will place an injured player on the DL to make room for another player. However, with expanded rosters in September a team may not place an injured player on the DL because they don't need to free up a roster spot. We don't have expanded rosters in Roadkill, though, so a manager can be screwed if he can't place an injured player on the DL just because the major league team doesn't. If Adam was able to place Ben Sheets on his DL despite not being on a major league DL (as he was able to last year) then Rodelo should receive the same consideration when he has an injured player that's not on a major league DL simply because of expanded September rosters. Perhaps there could be a qualification that the player must then remain on the DL for the rest of the playoffs.
  23. Tom Brady was in a car accident this morning. He was banged up but reportedly refused medical treatment. He will be further examined by the Patriots' medical staff.
  24. There's a feature on Archer in today's Raleigh, North Carolina paper (he's from the Raleigh area).
  25. There's a difference between saying an idea is stupid vs. saying the person is stupid. Smart people can still come up with some stupid ideas. I doubt there's a single one of us that hasn't come with a stupid idea at some point, but that doesn't make us stupid.
