  1. Oops.
  2. we did?? Ha. that's news to me. My guess is that the move is just a procedural move for the offseason. That's my guess too, much like major league teams reinstating players from the 60-day DL during the offseason.
  3. Now Joe Girardi and Mariano Rivera have more time to spend at Taco Bell finishing chalupas.
  4. A rainy night in Texas. Interestingly, the national anthem was sung by B.J. Thomas, best known for the song "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head."
  5. If there's going to be an abuse of this I think it might most likely be as a way to bring up a fresh reliever to help an overworked bullpen. Teams might be more likely to replace a reliever if they only have to miss 7 days, rather than being sent down for a minimum of 10 days (which is only possible for a player with options) or being placed on the DL for 15 days. I'm for it because a team doesn't have to either go without a player for 15 days or be a man short if the player has a minor injury that would require him to miss around a week. I'd advocate it for any injury, not just restricted to concussions. If there's concern for abuse there could be restrictions set (such as a maximum number of 7-day DL moves per team in a month or a maximum number of times in a season that a single player could be placed on the 7-day DL).
  6. That would be a huge blow. I think he's the best TE in the game today.Antonio Gates thinks you're a fool. Good point. OK, one of the best.
  7. He's one of the players the Cubs got from Arizona last offseason in the Aaron Heilman trade.
  8. That would be a huge blow. I think he's the best TE in the game today.
  9. McAfee has been suspended for one game by the Colts (next weekend's game against Houston, since this weekend is their bye week) for his public intoxication arrest.
  10. I have that exact same decision in one of my leagues. For the moment I'm leaning toward Orton because of the matchup.
  11. Colts' punter Pat McAfee arrested and charged with public intoxication after being found wet and shirtless near a downtown Indianapolis canal.
  12. They mentioned that it went well on last night's telecast too.
  13. Not too shabby of an ALCS for my latest acquisition. :D
  14. No you didn't. (I play dirty.) :P
  15. In after lock. :D
  16. So basically it sounds like, once the Cubs got a manager who gives a damn, the players started giving a damn too.
  17. And this is why I hate the Yankees and their fans. "Man we just got dominated by this guy...we'll just have to sign his ass this offseason" To paraphrase the well-known saying: If you can't beat 'em, sign 'em.
  18. Looks like that question has now been answered.
  19. 6-0! Next week may be tough due to bye weeks. No Collie, no LT, no Greene.
  20. No-no for Lee broken up with 2 out in the 5th.
  21. It makes someone like Devin Hester relevant regardless of his production as a WR. I thought it made more sense than including them with the defensive scoring, because it seemed too often last year that a bad defense could put up a good score. Every score that they give up leads to an opportunity for kickoff return yardage.
  22. And the postseason trading has begun. I actually managed to make a trade with Tim and hold onto my #1 draft pick. :D
  23. Any realistic chance they see the error of their ways and fire Parrish after this season? I didn't expect them to stay at the level of two years ago, but backsliding all the way back to records reminiscent of the Bill Lynch era should be considered inexcusable.
  24. Skyballer lives!
  25. One thought that came to mind as I was reviewing the minor league eligibility and exemption rules to start planning for next year. I noticed an inconsistency in that the minor league eligibility rule for batters is based on at-bats, but the exemption rule is based on plate appearances. I think it would be easier to keep track of if they were both based on ABs or both based on PAs.
