  1. The Reds feel they owe us for Josh Hamilton...... Does he have to stick all year ? Yes he does or we need to offer him back.
  2. Barber sounds iffy again this week (expected to be a gametime decision, which is not a good thing for a Sunday night game). Meanwhile, Addai may miss this week's game with a shoulder injury, so Rhodes (who's already been putting up good numbers despite playing behind Addai) could put up big numbers. Three Colts in my lineup against the Lions. =P~
  3. I believe you just have to have played in 10 seasons, be retired for 5 years, and be nominated by a screening committee. I don't even think there's a committee. Everybody who qualifies (10-year career, retired for 5 years) is added to the ballot the year they become eligible. To stay on the ballot beyond the first year the player needs to get some specified percentage of votes (5% sticks in my mind).
  4. It was reported that he was traded to the Tigers, but that report was later debunked.
  5. With as many bowl games as there are I'm not sure I would have used confidence points if there was a choice. But unlike the regular season contest, the bowl contest automatically uses confidence points; there's no option.
  6. I don't remember exactly when it was, but yes, that stat was discussed. I remember reading about it in the Sporting News. The subtraction of HRs was to avoid double-counting because a HR is both a run scored and an RBI.
  7. The Hall of Fame is dead to me. It doesn't exist; it's just a myth. If it were real there's no way Santo wouldn't be in.
  8. They'd need to reduce the number of bowl games for that to happen (I'm not saying that would be a bad thing). There just aren't enough teams with winning records to fill all the slots. I remember when playing in a bowl game was a reward for a GOOD season, not a mediocre season. My first year in college (1978) Ball State went 10-1 overall and undefeated in the MAC, but didn't go bowling because back then there were fewer than 20 bowl games and the MAC didn't even have one bowl tie-in.
  9. Not only is the exact date unknown, it's generally acknowledged that it could NOT have been anytime around Dec. 25. Based on things like shepherds being out with their flocks the general consensus that I've seen is that it was most likely during spring or summer, not winter.
  10. Except for #1 vs. #8 the lower seeded team won every match this week. And none of the matches were that close (the margin of victory in every match was over 15 points).
  11. You can make picks now.
  12. how do I set my picks in wont let me oh I thought they scheduled them last night...my bad sorry ESPN.com showed them as being set as of last night, so I'm not sure why Yahoo doesn't have them up yet. The first bowl game isn't until Dec. 20, though, so there's still plenty of time.
  13. Do you think Ron will ever get elected to the Hall?
  14. I've started a College Bowl Pick'em contest group on Yahoo. Group ID 24399, password cubsin09. The contest uses confidence points just like the regular season contest did.
  15. You have unless McGehee is out of this world and the Ravens' defense has a total meltdown. If tonight's game is something like 77-70 then you may be in trouble. I definitely beat Wilmo (Douchebag Pierzinski). I'm up 111.48 to 89.58, and all of his players are finished while I still have the Carolina defense tomorrow night (I may bench them as a defensive move to protect against a negative score). And that's after getting zero points from one of my running back positions due to Barber's injury (I had no choice but to use a backup, and I chose the wrong one; Rhodes actually had double digits). whats the score for mine now? I don't have live scoring on Yahoo. It's over (neither of you have a player in the Monday night game). You won 135.06 to 74.8. Looks like you play Fighting CTs in the semifinals while I play GEOVANY SOTO. If everything goes right it can be an all-North Carolina final.

  17. I'm Christian, but I don't think one needs to be Christian to enjoy Christmas (or Easter either, for that matter). There are enough non-Christian traditions to make for enjoyable holidays regardless of one's beliefs (or non-beliefs). I myself enjoy secular traditions (such as Christmas lights and decorations, Christmas music, exchanging gifts, etc.) in addition to the religious meaning.
  18. It doesn't. The BCS standings are based on the USA Today and Harris polls and the computer rankings. AP used to be part of the BCS standings, but they begged out a few years ago so the Harris poll was created to replace it.
  19. I'll ride with you. I think this is the year though. I think it's this year or never. And I'm leaning toward this year.
  20. That looked like a TD to me. And me. And the announcers. And since the original call was a touchdown they had no right to overturn it unless there was indisputable evidence that it was not a touchdown. And on the other play one angle made it look like the ball might have touched the ground before the receiver had control, but I didn't think it came close to being indisputable evidence to overturn the call. The officials stole one touchdown, and possibly another, from Ball State. I hate zebras.
  21. I'm still alive. Disappointed, but alive. And Meph, as you can see, my signature was killed.
  22. Florida 34, Alabama 20 Oklahoma 45, Missouri 24 USC 38, UCLA 3 Ball State 41, Buffalo 17
  23. Pwetty Please!!!!!!! Get Dunn and Roberts in the three way deal for Peavy and I'd be in heaving And what would you be heaving? :D
  24. No wonder the Cubs let Wood go. They needed the money to re-sign Len. :D
