  1. It's part of a marathon of high-strikeout games. I'd certainly watch it if I didn't already have it as part of the great Cubs games DVD set that came out a couple of years ago.
  2. I was hoping they edited the ending like WGN once did for a rebroadcast of the Phillies' 23-22 win over the Cubs in 1979 (in the edited rebroadcast Ernie Banks then hit a 2-run homer to win 24-23). Alas, no such luck. Which was a real feat because Banks had been retired for 8 years already by then. The magic of splicing.

  4. The bright side for me is that my roster is as good as anybody in the league at the moment. :D
  5. I'm willing to trade Empty for a draft pick. :-))
  6. Too bad I didn't have "Empty" on my roster last year for my playoff matchups against TBA. :D
  7. Yep, my roster shows "Empty" for every spot. I did notice that, if you click on 2008, it shows the rosters for every team in the league (and I believe those were the season-ending rosters). Even if you select your own team from the drop-down menu it shows all teams.
  8. That works for me. If I get tired near the end I can always let the last couple of rounds be picked by autodraft.
  9. Yes it is a rebroadcast. It originally aired about a week ago.

  11. That would be 9:30 for me. I could probably do it that late if it were on Monday or Wednesday night, because I don't teach any classes on Tuesday or Thursday and therefore don't have to get up as early. It would be too late for me on Tuesday or Thursday night because I need to get up earlier the next morning.
  12. Wasn't that early in the year in Atlanta? Are you thinking of this game? I was at that game, as well as the game the next night (the infamous Pratt-fall).
  13. the foul ball off his leg? Yep. I think he missed most of a season with the Dodgers due to a similar injury earlier.
  14. I believe I have a commitment the afternoon of Sunday, March 15. I think any other Sunday afternoon would work for me.
  15. One of the beautiful parts to a DVR. I have it set to record anything Cubs & Sports related. Lots of good undiscovered stuff has come from it. Highly recommended. I have a Direct TV DVR BTW I have the DirecTV HD-DVR. I have it set to record the rebroadcast.
  16. Today they featured Wrigley Field in the Cathedrals of the Game series. I didn't realize it until it was too late, but it's being repeated Sunday, Feb. 1 at 2:30 A.M. Eastern time.
  17. Is brazilian the term used in Brazil for a gazillion? :D
  18. I stand corrected.
  19. I always understood it the first way.
  20. Sam Jones' no-hitter in 1955. Don Cardwell's no-hitter in 1964. Not a whole lot during that era.
  21. Interesting historical note about the matchup. The Cardinals (then in Chicago) and Steelers were merged as the Card-Pitts in 1944 due to World War II. The previous year the Steelers and Eagles were merged as the Steagles. Despite having players from both the Cardinals and Steelers franchises combined on a single team they went 0-10.
  22. Former Colts DC Ron Meeks is new DC for the Panthers.
  23. No, now it stands for North Side Bragging & Bitching. :D
  24. It would be quite an accomplishment if Ball State made postseason in both basketball (even if it's the NIT) and football the same year. To the best of my knowledge they've never done that before.
