  1. I'm mailing payment today.
  2. Crime Dog doesn't stand a chance if he has to compete against himself for votes. :D
  3. Not surprising since he isn't a Cub anymore. Sorry...Callis meant if Veal was still in the system, he wouldn't have made the top 31. Talk about free-falling.
  4. Not surprising since he isn't a Cub anymore.
  5. Who do you think will win?
  6. I'm fairly confident the birds will win. :D
  7. You recall correctly. The Colts have also lost after a bye week a couple of times (including the year when they were the #1 seed, when the Steelers won the Super Bowl as a #6 seed).
  8. I can't believe the Panthers were so putrid. So much for the teams I root for. My favorite team (Bears) missed the playoffs altogether, and my second (Colts) and third (Panthers) favorite teams are gone. :(
  9. I forgot Heilman was now with the Mariners. I'd do it in a heartbeat; a spare part for a possible bullpen upgrade.
  10. I believe he had an angioplasty a couple of years ago. I remember reports of him making phone calls from the hospital.
  11. A more interesting question would be whether you'd be willing to live in North Dakota for a year if that guaranteed a Cubs World Championship.
  12. Why? He's had as many disappointing teams as good teams. He's been given more resourses than most every other GM, and the team has one 90 win season to his credit. He hired Dusty Freaking Baker for chrissakes. So I'm guessing you gave the F? It was probably JeffH who gave Hendry the F. Or Keeper.
  13. Similar thing happened with Dick Allen in 1974-75. The White Sox traded him to the Braves for Jim Essian. Then, when he refused to play for the Braves, they traded him to the Phillies for.....Jim Essian. What actually happened was that the trade to the Braves was for a PTBNL. When the Braves got Essian from the Phillies they then flipped him to the Sox as the PTBNL.
  14. I had 34 points on Ball State. Thud! At least I have a chance of picking up a whopping one point on the championship game.
  15. Why? He's had as many disappointing teams as good teams. He's been given more resourses than most every other GM, and the team has one 90 win season to his credit. He hired Dusty Freaking Baker for chrissakes. Because they have as many postseason appearances in six years of his tenure as they have in my entire life (and then some) before then. Sure it should have been better, which is why I didn't give an A. I'm a teacher; you have to expect SOME grade inflation. :D
  16. If you're talking about overall since he's been GM, B. If you're talking about this offseason specifically, I (Incomplete).
  17. I've never heard of that before, firing a coach just for interviewing for an NFL coaching job.
  18. It would only be beating them twice, though, since they split in the regular season (the road team winning both games).
  19. I love how you don't have time to respond to me when you can no longer defend your weak arguments because you "have a fie and kid", yet you constantly take shots at me and reply to my other posts. awesome and yeah, you're right. a professional baseball player stepping awkwardly on his leg is just freaky. i mean, what are the chances of something like that happening? just.. weird. I very distinctly remember Tim telling (not asking) you and wrigley23 to put each other on ignore just a couple of days ago. Do it.
  20. Time for another round. Collectively we went 2-2 in the Wild Card round (missed both Saturday games, right on both Sunday games).
