  1. Not sure, but I think this win clinched the MAC conference championship for Ball State. So it's a little bit of a big deal. They haven't clinched yet. They still need to beat Western Michigan next week to win the MAC West outright. If they lose and Central Michigan wins their game next week Ball State, Central Michigan, and Western Michigan will all be tied with one conference loss. And since they's all be 1-1 against each other I'm not sure how the tie would be broken.
  2. I don't think Tim has any control over the ads that are shown.
  3. 11-0!!!!!
  4. Then this thread would be re-titled Rich Hill is Dunn. :D
  5. Why must they torture us so? Why did we even trade Ceda, who a lot of teams would have been interested in for a 30 year old with 1 year left on his contract? If were going to do this, Josh Vitters will somehow be involved. Thats all fine and dandy, but 1 way or another, I need closure on this. I know I just want something to happen to get it over with. What are some potential third teams? Rays: Andy Sonnanstine or Edwin Jackson Twins: Delmon Young Royals: Zach Grienke Pirates: Ian Snell maybe Zach Duke or Paul Maholm Since the purpose of including a third team is to send pitching to San Diego the Twins and Young don't fit in at all.
  6. Modzilla's long-lost relative.
  7. Yeah, but he could have told me in '97 that the Cubs weren't going to win the World Series that year, and I wouldn't have believed him then either. Yes, there's no way he would have convinced me that the Cubs wouldn't win that year after their 0-14 start. :D
  8. Looks like I'm not the only person here that reads ESPN.com's Bottom 10.
  9. Top score of the week by over 20 points, baby! My team is on fire now. Manning and Harrison are back in synch and, after trades and the end of bye weeks, I have a strong running game (it may have been the worst in the league at the start of the season, but having Eli Manning and Reggie Wayne as trade bait can turn that around). You can all go ahead and concede another championship to me now and save the heartache of shattered dreams. :P
  10. Suing fans for not cheering, that's a new one. :D
  11. In the NSBB league those who picked Philadelphia are shown as eliminated. I'm not sure if that's actually a setting that the commissioner can customize of not; I never even thought about it until now since ties are so rare anymore.
  12. This is just the beginning- as rotoworld says- "The Colts have San Diego, Cleveland, Cincy, and Detroit coming on the schedule. Addai is going to help you win your fantasy league." http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=3646 Manning and Harrison are going to help me win my fantasy league. The Colts' offense is getting hot at the right time.
  13. Having seen both teams win at IU, Ball State is definitely better. Of course, LeFevour didn't play that game -- testament to the futility of a Bill Lynch led team -- but the overall talent still seems to favor Ball State from my view. I think Ball State is the better team and would win at home or a neutral site. However, the game is at CMU; hopefully BSU is enough better to overcome that. There's a chance that there could be a three way tie for the MAC West. Not likely, but if BSU beats CMU this week, then next week CMU beats EMU and BSU loses to WMU then BSU, CMU, and WMU would all be tied with one conference loss. And since they will all be 1-1 against each other under that scenario I'm not sure what the next tiebreaker is.
  14. Three people bite the dust today in the NSBB Survival Football league, inclucing me (after nobody was eliminated last week). Three of us picked the Eagles, who finished in an overtime tie with the Bengals. And under Survival Football rules a tie counts the same as a loss: bye-bye. :x
  15. Oops; misread. One can sometimes be tired at nearly 1:00 A.M. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/sleep004.gif
  16. I don't think they'd have to keep him on the 25-man (they would have to keep him on the 40-man). However, they would also have to expose him to waivers to send him down.
  17. But we loyal fans do. I'd rather see the Cubs win it under new ownership than the Tribune. Although, the new owners will probably keep Hendry around since the morans at the Trib gave him a 4 year deal. If the Trib still owns the Cubs in 2009 I want to see them win it under the Trib.
  18. How about keeping the dscussion related to the actual poll topic instead of whether the thread starter knew that there is a polls forum?
  19. But we loyal fans do.
  20. I take it you weren't a Cubs fan during the Lynch/MacPhail years And don't forget Larry Himes.
  21. Hendry wouldn't even give Wood a one-year deal? So much for the good feelings I had about Hendry's performance the last couple of years. This is starting to reek of the same stench as Larry Himes' refusal to re-sign Maddux when he was just entering his prime. Fire Hendry.
  22. id rather lose with wood than win without him. and i know i am not in the minority. You're completely in the minority. Winning a championship is much more important than who's on the team. My first choice would be to win with Wood, but if it comes down to winning or keeping Wood winning is much more important.
  23. Isn't he also the guy who used to broadcast wrestling matches? And he broadcasts NFL games too (I think including some of the Bears' games this year). XFL. Wrestling, XFL, same difference; they're both Vince McMahon toys. :D
  24. And injured.
