First off, your math is pretty bad (2003-1945 = 58 years). He also mortgaged the team's future for that one playoff run and crippled the Cubs going forward. Oh, and he's an awful manager. But yeah, we're sad. OH I'M SORRY. He took the Cubs the deepest into the playoffs in 58 years, and won their first playoff series in 100 years. My bad. He didn't cause Alou, Lofton, Sosa, Karros to be old and Alex Gonzalez to be bad. Kerry Wood was doomed to get hurt. Prior? Hopefully he learned his lesson, lol. Yeah....but He did that in his first yr. The NEXT 3 will considerable disappoingting, including 04 in which DUSTY BAKER kept putting a square (Hawkins) in a circle (closer's role) and he blew a late something game lead and lost the wild card, to the Astros. And going back to 2003: had Baker gone out to the mound after Alou's hissy fit, and told Prior to forget what just happen, and refocus, then the Cubs would have gone to the World Series. You can bank on one thing....Bruce, Votto, Bailey, will get shots, but will also be on short leashes, or will start in the minors. Baker has NO USED for youngersters, even if they have talent. You can try and spin the value of Baker, but when your pitchers begin to hit the DL with a vengence, then you will see what we are talking about.
