  1. Which means, it could come down to either CC Sabathia or AJ Burnett for the starting pitcher, the Cubs should acquire. I know, the Cubs are said not to be interested in AJ, seeing as Oakland isn't going away, and unless another "top of the rotation pitcher" becomes available, I think the Cubs have to reevaluate AJ Burnett.
  2. I'm almost positive WGN has the Sox, CSN has Len and Bob Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Hawk and DJ call the first game of the Cubs/White Sox series at Wrigley this past weekend?
  3. Really, his scouting report says he can't shoot or guard. Weems is a player. he's very raw, but a a ridiculous athlete. He made tremendous progress from his junior year to his senior, when he was clearly the best player the Hogs had on the offensive side. He fell in love with his outside shot and got into trouble there, but he had to be. His defense is, in my estimation, about average for a college player, which is below average at the NBA level. His big thing is that he's an athletic freak who has been very steadily improving as a basketball player. Comparing him to a CDR, his upside is much higher, though all bets are off with regards to his ability to reach that upside. None of which matters if you're a Bulls fan because he just got traded. Yeah, we traded him and a couple of future 2nd rounders for some Turkish guy. At least he's a big guy, but (this should sound familiar) he has no offensive game, relies on his defense, and he might not even come to the States for as long as five years from now. Great move there Pax. Yeah. Sounds like Paxson found the next Dragan Tarlac, or Dalibor Bagoric.
  4. "Kuofos isn't here, but it's like he's here in spirit because he's so big!" But, but, but, I thought he was "cooler then the other side of the pilllow. Mandatory Tar Hell shout out."
  5. If Walker is at all healthy he will be a very good pro. How is it that most fans, and analysts agree that the Bulls need some changes, and yet the one person who can make it happen, doesn't see the problem? I love Rose, but to expect a rookie PG to help turn a franchise around, is a joke. Give the young man some help, and stop sitting on your butt, Pax.
  6. when i watched the game last night the other night, they were talking about theriot's gidp rate as a reason for moving him down in the lineup If that is the case, then maybe the Cubs should consider moving Lee down. Not as dramatic as Theriot (#2 to #8), maybe to #5 behind a returning Fuku and ARam @ 3-4.
  7. And while we are at it, maybe the Bulls can add Thomas and Noah to the deal and take back Curry just to be "fair." Rosner stupidity surpasses Sam Smith. To even run the risk of watching your howngrown star blossoming with one of your heated/heated rivals like the Knicks is pure stupidity.
  8. Agree. But if the playoffs began today, Lilly would/should be the #3 behind Z and Dempster. Nonetheless, you know Piniella wants to slot Lilly at no best then #3.
  9. I still wouldn't mind if he could call him "our little guy" ooooh right around August 1st. Why? DeRosa has been better. No, he hasn't. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/stats/batting?sort=avg&split=0&league=mlb&season=2008&seasonType=2&type=reg&ageMin=17&ageMax=51&minpa=0&hand=a&pos=2b&startDate=null&endDate=null At best DeRo and BRob would have been comparable this yr at 2B. Not an upgrade, in that sense. Not an upgrade? That's just not true as of right now. Based on season stats, he wouldn't. DeRo will get hot again. Why waste assest to get a 2B, (which WE DON'T NEED) when the Cubs could use the same assests on another top of the line pitcher.

  11. When I watch him pitched in the WBC in Orlando, I could not believe how big he is. Glad to see he kept the shirt. Z .v. Pujols in the WBC was the quietest I heard any baseball stadium, in my life.
  12. Noted. We should still take Rose. Agreed. The Bulls will be the only team not regretting taking Beasley.
  13. Nothing new. Said that to get Sabathia, you need motivation and prospects. the cubs have the motivation, but the mysterious "baseball people" dont think that they have the prospects. IDC what Olney says, if Hendry wants CC Sabathia, he will get him. I remember when the Cubs were not a match for the Red Sox and Nomar Garciaparra, because Boston either want a package around Andy Sisco, or Carlos Zambrano straight up, or a package that involved Matt Clement. And yet, the Cubs found a way---a complicated way---to get Nomar to Chicago. Seeing as Cleveland hasn't exactly put CC on the market, you can't really list the favorites, until he is available.
  14. I have a sneaky feeling this could be a blowout win for the Cubs. I'm thinking 13-1. ARam/Lee/Soto with HRs, and a combine 6 rbis. The 7th inning stretch will be butchered, but the hot dog vendor in the 8th inning will make it up to the fans, by throwing a perfect streak hotdog to a customer 20 ft away.
  15. You CANNOT hate Matchbox 20. You may not like their music, but you simply cannot hate the group. I’ve meet them a couple of times (and I do enjoy their music) and they are the nicest group of people you will ever meet. So, down to earth, willing to chat to you, and not over you, or simply ignore you (ala Christina Aguilera). Just say you don’t like their music, hate is not appropiate with Matchbox 20. With that said, great vid, the song was great.
  16. The Cubs will win the next two, and this loss will be forgotten.
  17. Blanco should be used to either give Soto a day off, or replace Soto due to fatigue, injury or whatnot. Blanco should not be your “last chance” to tie or even win a ballgame. Which means, the Cubs should look for another good bat off the bench, so that Blanco shouldn’t be counted on to come through in the clutch.
  18. Guthrie will not shut the Cubs down. I expect the Cubs rough him starting in the bottom half.
  19. Correct me if I am wrong, but was it me, or was there less White Sox at Wrigley Field this yr, then in years' past? Yr's past, you could always hear the WS Fans at Wrigley during telecasts, but this yrs, you hardly ever heard anything friom the WS fans. So I was wondering if it was just me or not.
  20. I like it when Len's voice cracks like a little boy going through puberty. I also enjoys his "Oh, baby." You know what I enjoy............the dead air silences of Hawk and DJ when something bad happens to the White Sox. That is most enjoyable.
  21. I cannot wait till David Price makes his Montgomery Biscuits home debut. His first start for the Biscuits (Homer drooling, Biss.......cuits...shakes out of it) is on the road. When he makes his home debut, I am going to watch him, and take my camera.
