  1. The way I look at it is....if the Cubs are not schedule for a Fox Saturday Baseball, then I don't watch whatever scheduled game Fox has going. I'll just following the game on Yahoo/CBS, and of course this board. So, no Cub game on Fox Saturday, me no watch Fox baseball.
  2. (Axel F---the Beverly Hills Cop theme---plays in the background) I like the "Harden" and "Wood" jokes, as much as the next guy, but what about the "Get Rich" schemes? Get Rich Hill throwing like he should, get Rich Aurilla in a trade (and his numbers are not that bad for the role he would be acquire to fill, the RH pop off the bench), to go along everybody favorite new Cub, Rich Harden, and the Cubs could do that "Get Rich" schemes.
  3. Micah Owings is intrigued with this idea. Carlos Zambrano wants a part of that idea....
  4. If he comes back with another team I am going to be really unhappy. (I'm a Packers fan if you couldn't tell) He will sign with the Vikings. You heard it here first I say, Carolina. Favre doesn't play well in Domes.
  5. I know there were rumors of the Cubs being interested, even going back to when he's a Oriole, but if the team has interests in Erik, they need to back out now. I believe Brenly once said, managers loves pitchers who fight them over the ball. Managers loves pitchers who don't want to come out of the game (I believe he made a comment like this, in Z's first start off the DL, when he pull Z, and on camera, you can see Z fighting to stay in the game). And Bedard is the kind of pitcher, who won't fight the manager. So, if the Cubs do indeed continue to shop for another starter, I would stay away from Bedard.
  6. To expect a pitcher to jump back into major league baseball, after missing a yr worth of baseball, and to pick up where he left off, before TJS, is wishful thinking. If any Card fans are expecting to see Cy Chris Carpenter, when he comes back, then they are delusional. If they are lucky, they will 2008 Jason Marquis type production out of Carpenter. And for a guy who has missed a full yr of baseball that would be darn good.
  7. Not me. I feel a blowout win for this game. I'm think 11-2 sounds about right.
  8. Yeah, you can't really judge a HS talent, till at least 3 yrs after HS. If they haven't started to hit their potential, then you have to worry. College players, on the other hand, are on a shorter leash, IMO. College players needs to come out hitting, once they sign or, they are behind the 8 ball. While I most certaintly won't call Colvin a "bust" yet, I have doubts he'll be anything more then a 4th OFer, right now. I hope he proves me wrong, tho. As for Vitters, how he finishes up this season, and how he plays next season, will determine his value either to the Cubs, or as a trade bait. Vitters could be, the LaPorta hot prospect for next yr's trade deadline, if Vitters continues to play like he has. Colvin was drafted out of college. I know that. My point was college players have to adjust quickly, if they want to move up the system. And right now, Colvin is showing the development of a HS drafted player, instead the development of a copllege player, for which he is.
  9. Agreed. Alot of people thought Edmonds was done when the Padres released him, and he's been solid for the Cubs. Some team is going think that Sexson could be their "Edmonds" and sign him quickly. And I could see Tampa, seeing as they are looking for a RH pop for their lineup.
  10. sure...i will take him you know why? jason doesn't have a spot then!!! :yahoo: Glendon Rusch, Shawn Estes, and NOW Randy Wolf. No thank you on Wolf. I prefer Marquis over Wolf.
  11. What's up with your comma usage brotha? I flunked English, a few times. Proper usage there, good luck with the english thing. I finally passed in summer school. Nonetheless, I don't much care for Jerry Hairston, Jr, and I don't see him upgrade the roster.
  12. What's up with your comma usage brotha? I flunked English, a few times.
  13. Does Arrojo play on the same team as Meddenhall? Did I misspell his last name or something?
  14. Anybody here, actually thinks Arrojo is going to hold this lead? Cause I don't.
  15. Give me Jerry's brother. Atleast Scott, can provide some power off the bench.
  16. We'll get the sweep, simply because Arrojo can't hold the lead.
  17. Lets' not lose again with Rich Harden in the "hizzle", ok Cubs.
  18. Am I the only one who sees Harden being compare to Curtis Montague Schilling? Both extremely talented RHers, who has had injury concerns early in their careers. But as soon as Curt Schilling got healthy he averaged: 231 IPs 2.43ERA 1.19WHIP 231:42 K:BB 31 starts This was between 1997-2007. (*They may be a little off, but should be close to accurate. I'm talking about his career between 97-07, and not his whole career) And I can remember, all the stories of when will Curt Schilling ever be healthy to reach his potential, and whatnot. And not to mention, Schilling had one more full healthy season then Harden before injuries hit. So when Schilling got healthy, he arguably was baseball's best pitcher between 1997 and 2007. Why can't the same be said about Rich Harden?
  19. Didn't Marmol get the first guys out, then loaded the bases, on an INF single and two BBs? I understand the uneasiness with the way Marmol has pitch recently. And I do believe the ASB will be BIG TIME help for him. He can go home, relax, and get back to basics. I fully expect Marmolicious to return after the ASB.
  20. But then again, the Cowboys DO HAVE the Anna Kournakova of NFL QBs, tho.... :P
  21. 22. Yeah, that's not a surprise. I know Fonzi wanted to go to the Last AS Game at Yankee Stadium, considering his past relationship with the Yankees, but sitting out, and getting healthy is more important then risking injury in a exhibition game.
  23. I doubt it. Considering Mike Fontenot's 2008 numbers as a backup 2B (.262/.356/.485/.840) and Mark DeRosa 2008 numbers as a 2B (.298/.370/.404/.774 remind you, this is NOT his overall numbers, just his numbers while playing 2B, DeRo overall numbers is .285/.372/.454/.826 ) are not as far off from Brian Roberts 2008 numbers (.291/.371/.484/.855), so I doubt Hendry will invest what assests he has for a luxury player, instead filling a need. My guess if LHP reliever (I'm not convince Cotts can be that guy, and I believe Hendry/Lou don't either), and a RIGHTY pop off the bench are the Cubs top 2 priorities now before the deadline.
  24. Juan Pablo Montoya. He kinda reminds me of the guy in Talladega Nights, who rivals Ricky Bobby.
