  1. Jim Duqette. You're right. Phillips had his own Kazmir for Zambrano. Deals like AJ Burnett for Al Leiter, Jason Isringhausen for Billy Taylor, Melvin Mora for Mike Bordick, and Jason Bay for Steve Reed.
  2. Cecil Cooper is a douche. He trying to be stubborn. 10 k's in 9ips pitch, no hitters, two balls even left the INF on the night. Yeah, Cecil he wasn't dominate. All Z did...........WAS OWN YOUR FREAKING BUTTS.....
  3. No offense, but this is a ridiculous poll. It's like asking which do you prefer: Eva Longoria or Erin Andrews.....Both are a great options, and you make the case for either, but ulitmately I can't pick one over the other.

  9. That's why I love being single. All the nookie, none of the "us time."
  10. Too many in a row for my liking...
  11. There's an baseball cliche that a team takes on the personality of it's head coach/manager. And if this holds true, then the 2nd yr in a row the Brewers colapse in the middle of a playoff run, what does that tell you about Ned Yost? Nevermind he is not a in game strategian, nor a "raw raw" coach, and now he has allowed his team to get unfocused for the 2nd yr in a row....Man if Yost isn't fired the second their season is over....there might be a riot in Milwaukee. But that's good/bad for us...
  12. The moment I remember most of this season was: Ryan Theriot's lone homerun. It happen on my birthday---April 15th---and it hit it against the Reds off Coffee at Wrigley. You don't forget about "The Grits" lone homerun. Favorite moment of the yr.
  13. Don't worry fellas, Derrek Lee is going to lead the Cubs to clinching the division by no later then Sunday. Why? I am working on my voodoo to make sure Lee's bat will be productive till the end of October.
  14. Eh, I think Trammell would be the better successer, IMHO. *shrug* I agree that Trammell would be the better successor to Lou. I mean I like Bob and he is a funny man, but he didn't win the 2001 World Series, he rode Randy Johnson/Curt Schilling to the title. Trammell was put in charge of arguably the worst talent roster in the history of baseball. I think Trammell should be given a 2nd shot with a team with legit MLB talent.
  15. He hasn't, but most people figure he will, because he totally stinks as a pitcher, and has the potential to be a 30 hr/middle of the order caliber hitter. But then again, Dusty and the Reds wukk try and keep him as a pitcher, even tho his potential is higher as a hitter.
  16. I really like Bob, especially when he rips the Cubs when it is appropiate. And there are times in which he has made the WTF joke, or comment, but otherwise, I think he has been really good in the Cubs broadcast.
  17. Morgan/Miller Buck/McCarver The Reds duo Can all make legitimate claim at the "most obnoxious" title.
  18. my next door neighbor is a lunatic OSU fan and he HATES Boekman todd boeckman is definitely a "game manager" which means "can't play football" Which means he will be the Chicago Bears next QB..........
  19. Seattle has already been burned by Richie Sexson, so they may be reluntant to acquire Lee. Besides that, Bavasi isn't the GM there anymore, and chance are the Cubs will have to eat some money to move Lee. San Fran would be an interesting option. I wouldn't mind Sergio Romo and a prospect (if the Cubs eat a good portion of Lee's contract) type deal from the Giants. As for Cleveland two words: Travis Hafner. Two more words: Victor Martinez. It wouldn't surprise me if Cleveland officially asks and gets Victor to move off catcher and start playing 1st base full time. With Shoppach showig he can be a pretty good offensive player (.272/.345/.538/.882 on the yr) it would make sense for Martinez to become a full time 1st/DH. So with Martinez/Hafner in Cleveland, I doubt they'd be interested in Lee. Toronto has Lyle Overbay (.279/.368/.435/.803 v. Lee at .292/.362/.458/.820) and they may not see Lee as an upgrade, or necessary, considering Lee is making more then double of what Overbay is making. So I doubt they'll be interested. Now, I do see the Angels being interested if they lose Tex. I see Baltimore being interested. Oakland could be interesed (as they are looking for RH power this offseason), especially if the Cubs eat alot of the contract. The Yanks might be interested if they fail to land Tex. Otherwise, my feeling is the Cubs won't upgrade at 1st base. Which, IMO, means they HAVE to upgrade in the OF. They must take a shot at guys like Pat Burrell, Milton Bradley, Bobby Abreu.
  20. Look I understand where McClane is coming from. This is the series that should belong in Houston. But due to mother nature, this series isn't going to be played in Houston. Not to many people (of the few that staye in Houston) are going to shell out money to go watch a game. My guess would be, if the Cubs/Stros game was played on Sunday, then you can expect a Florida Marlins esque attendance. And ultimately the decision will come down to finanical concerns. I realize McClane wants to keep the home series in Houston, because the Cubs have fans in every city, thus the Astros while technically the home team, would be treated like the visitors. But McClane has to realize this series isn't going to be played in Houston. MLB won't allow the playoffs be pushed back to make up this series, and the Cubs won't fly into Houston if the feel their safety is being jeopardize. The sooner Bud grows a pair, the quicker the Astros/Cubs can make plans to get to the site to plays these games.
  21. You're playing Nevada. true, but do any of the Big XII teams have a shut down pass defense? You can't expect the Big XII to worry about such "trivial" things like defense. :D
  22. Motherhundley, I never that I see the day we would use players names as curse words. Son-of-a-Hawkins, this could be cool
  23. Anyone surprised that Owings is the player? I know he struggled this year and was eventually sent down but in many ways, I wish we had him...although I don't know where we would put him. Have him start in place of Marquis? I don't know. And after all, it is for Dunn. Marquis is a better pitcher than Owings. Kevin Hart is a better pitcher then Owings. If I am the Reds, I would use the offseason, and tell Owings he will play Fall League as a LF, and not as a pitcher. Why waste his ability as a hitter, when he sucks as a pitcher, and is most likely back end of the rotation/swing type pitcher. I say, put Owings in LF, and let him concentrate on hitting only.
