  1. Ultimately, I believe Theriot will end up at 2nd or a utility player. But until the Cubs get an obvious upgrade at SS (or if Cedeno proves he is better) Theriot stays at SS. But I do agree with you, I just hope his lack of arm strength don't come back and haunt the Cubs..
  2. Heck no, you don't tell someone that fine to "shut up." I'll let here chat my ears off anybody of the week for some of her...........
  3. Now I know Josh Howard's white man alias....it's Ken Rosenthal.
  4. Technically, if the Brewers lose before the Cubs game is over, the Cubs will be on the field when they clinch. If this happens, I vote they break out the champagne showers in middle of the 8th or whenever. Seconded. Tell the Cardinals to just leave, they can have the games by forfeit. No vancejerkins, the Cubs still need to win a few games, because HFA hasn't been decided yet. And I don't know about the rest of you, but I much rather have HFA in the playoffs then play on the road. Haha, vancejerkins. You better watch it, RedFljerk Dude, I apologize for misspelling your user name. Typing in a hurry kind of does that to one who's been up all night studying.
  5. Troy has been a really good team under Larry Blakeney for the past few yrs. This a school that has beaten......a Brad Smith lead Missouri team in 2004 AND the Adarius Bowman (his brother Michael just committed to Alabama, after being basically told to "piss off" by GA) lead Oklahoma State Cowboys. So it doesn't surprise me that Troy is giving OSU all that they can handle. And have you guys seen what my boys are doing to the red piggies? Apparently Bama felt like Pork Chops and bacon for lunch today.

  7. Something tells me that you will see a focused Cub team later today against Piniero. The Cubs know they can clinch on Saturday and my feeling is they won't dropped the ball. Which means, it wouldn't surprise me if the Cubs return the butt-whoopin to the Cards in Game 2. Bold prediction: Soriano/Lee/ARam and Soto goes yrd. Edmonds with 2 rbis and a diving catch. Lilly 7 innings 8 hits 2 ERs and 1:9 BB/K. Most important prediction: There will be an executive team meeting called at the pitchers mound.
  8. Just watch the replay off DVR, and like I said in the ACTUAL game thread, "Wowsa." Z just look like he would have owned any lineup in baseball on Sunday. The movement on his pitches should have been illegal. All the congrats to Z for throwing the no-hitter, but MAD PROPS to Geovany Soto for calling the game. It wouldn't surprise me if Soto catches up with Jason Varitek for called no-hitters in a career. I won't say he will catch up to Varitek (that's like saying any pitcher today throwing a no-hitter could possibly catch Nolan Ryan), but it wouldn't surprise me, especially with the talent on the Cubs pitching staff.
  9. I'm not so sure LSU-Auburn will be that low scoring. LSU has a decent offense, even if it is run-oriented. I expect them to put up at least 21. IDK if anybody has heard this but Auburn's dean of students, Johnny Green basically has begged the fans not to booed either Tony Franklin or the team this weekend. Playing a team in the top 10 on National TV with a coach that has promised the world, and has delivered crap, you can see the writing on the wall. vance, LSU should put up atleast 30 points against Auburn, if for nothing else AU's offense will give LSU extra possessions to work with. I'd say LSU wins 38-10.
  10. They're facing a talented but struggling NL Central team trying desperately to clinch a playoff spot despite an injured ace and an underperforming supporting cast; the resemblance is certainly there, no? To the 2008 Cubs? Not really. The only part that's really even close about that comparison is the injured ace part, but the situations really aren't comparable even in that specific case. As I said before though, its hard to ignore the similarites between this 2008 Brewers team and the 2004 Cubs team. Actually the 04 Cubs and the 07 Mets are prolly a little bit of a better comparasion then the 08 Brewers and the 04 Cubs. Simply because both teams were very talented, and held a division lead late in the season and then collapsed. Nonetheless 08 Brewers, 07 Mets and the 04 Cubs are definately comparable teams...
  11. Which is exactly what happened, good job Tony La Russa! I see that. What's even better is that Lou used pitchers who shouldn't (Howry) or won't be (Weurtz/Hart/Guzman) carried on the postseason roster. The only pitcher who is likely to be on the postseason---Sean Marshall---pitched early in the game. Otherwise, I thought Lou made a conscious effort to make sure to give his "trusted" arms a day off (Wood/Marmol/Shark---I think Lou still trusts him) in a game he that didn't need any of them. As for Howry, I realize he will be on the roster, but I am hoping Gaudin will return and pitch well enough along with Cotts and Marshall, that Piniella will be forced to leave Howry off the postseason.
  12. The only thing left in this game to root for to happen is for the Cubs to score about 5-6 runs, just so TLR has to used several relievers in this game.
  13. I'm not surprise at the stinker of this game considering what happen yesterday. But let the Cards get all of their offense out today, cause I got a feeling that the Cards will struggle to find offense the last two games......
  14. http://www.sacbee.com/100/story/1248904.html I love me some Cain, but that definately sets the Brewers back. One or the other makes more sense, but not both from the Brewers POV. If I am the Brewers I would be asking for Jonathon Sanchez along with Matt Cain, if the Giants want Hardy/Fielder and a player to be named.
  15. Personally I would like to give Kosuke one more before we start talking about buyout. It's obviously he can hit, it's just his style that worked in Japan isn't working in United States. So perhaps some major tinkering to his stance might help him..
  16. Or if you perfer his human name........Joe Morgan..
  17. Geo Soto is the new ^^^^^which isn't a bad thing..........
  18. Aww.........it's good to know the Astros already have their "scapegoat" as to why they couldn't win when it matter. Yes Astros, you got screwed, but the game of baseball doesn't change, even if you moved venues. You still have to pitch the ball, catch the ball, or hit the ball and the Astros clearly couldn't do two of those things. But yeah, the Astros lack of pitching and hitting is clearly Bud Selig's fault. Grow up Houston, grow a pair, and act like men.
  19. I do to, especially if he gives up the no-no early in the game....
  20. Say what? What people are telling me is that the Cubs came from 4 down in the 9th with two outs to tie the game only to win the game in the 12th with a Derrek Lee single. OMIGOD. Wowsa............... And nobody should doubt the "Power of the Soto."
  21. Who's ready to hear "Go Cubs Go"? I am. So Lee, ARam, Half-shirt, step up and end this game, now....
  22. The right pitcher is on the mound for Milwaukee for the Cubs offense to explaud. The Cubs have hurt Bush this yr by a tune of 13 runs in 12.2 IPs, or a 8.53 era. Not to mention Bush has a very average era of 4.36 against the Cubs in his career, add in the fact that Bush is 1-5 lifetime against the Cubs , today could be a very good day offensively. With that said, Bush does have a respectable 3.71 era in two lifetime starts at Wrigley, but is 0-2. So I predict a romp----14-4 Cubs.
  23. She looks like a tranny, dude. Or maybe you're slightly to definately buzz, perhaps dexter? Trust me, I've seen tranny, and she doesn't come close to looking like a tranny. Look at her face dude. She looks like Keanu Reeves. Like I said I 've seen SO MUCH WORSE. She's "a'ight" in a pinch, just not one I would make long-term... The point is she's not hot enough to be in this game thread. The game thread is reserved for fine specimens, not girls that you might consider if you were buzzed and horny and hadn't gotten laid in awhile. That's subjective, and I'm not interested in getting into a argument. She doesn't belong fine, but to say she looks like a tranny or she has a "Keanu" face is beyond being ridiculous. Besides there are girls in some game threads that look like hookers, but I don't have a problem with it...

  25. You say that every game. And you don't? Being 32 games over .500 means you go to the ballpark and you win. And just because the Cubs are 3 in a game barely started doesn't mean an "automatic" loss. I see the Cubs winning this game, does it mean they will? Of course not, but nothing this yr suggest otherwise that they can't come back from 3 down to win the game...
