  1. Then cops out and picks the Wangs to come out of the West. I really hope somebody knocks those jerks out early.
  2. Bulls bench>Magic bench.
  3. It all depends on how the Bulls attack Orlando. If we force Orlando to go to an up-tempo game, I think we'll win the series. I have a lack of confidence in Del Negro being able to outcoach SVG in a seven game series. With the way the Bulls are currently playing, I don't see this being a 7 game series. I have ??? about the Magic depth outside of their starting lineup. Outside of Howard they don't have much of a defensive prowess, and offensively it's either dump it in to Howard (and sometimes the Magic forget to include Howard in their offense) or basically settle for the 3 pointer. In other words, I would be disappointed if the Bulls don't win the series.
  4. The Magic are extremely beatable, and based on their style of play should be beaten.
  5. After watching Miles "hit" on Monday, I much rather sign Mike Lamb and have him play third on days in which ARam needs a breather and Fontenot at 2nd the Fontenot at 3rd and Miles at 2nd.
  6. The Pistons don't have Dwight Howard. He is going to eat Noah alive. The Bulls don't force any team to do anything that they don't want to do. True, but allow Howard to get his, and I take my bets on 5 on 4 (Rose/Gordon/Salmons/Thomas/Noah .v. Alston/Lee/Turk/Lewis) for the rest of the game. Throw in the fact that that Pietrus might be the Orlando's best bench player, whereas the Bulls can go 8 deep with Hinrich/Miller and if he gets off the bench Tim Thomas you have to like the Bulls chances. Not to mention if Deng can come back for the playoffs (and I know it's a BIG if) that's even better. That would mean the Bulls could theoritically run 10 deep for the playoffs. So yes, I picking the Bulls to upset the Magic in the first rd.
  7. Dwight Howard. And the Bulls are bull fighters on defense: they hold out a red shirt and the offense runs right by them. The Suns' style of play (fast- paced, no defense) which the Bulls are incorporating has never won a championship that I can think of. Dwight Howard ain't Lebron James. I love Howard and I love his game, but the Magic are a perimeter based team, and the Bulls are athlethically enough to guard them at the perimeter. Forced the Magic into bad three point shots, and there are nothing more then the Detroit Pistons, to be honest. A beatable team if I ever saw one.
  8. Ma......................honey.................!!!!!!!!!

  10. Two words: Todd Hundley.
  11. I don't get why people don't think the Bulls can't beat the Magic? Orlando is clearly a perimeter team, defend them at the arc (forced them into stupid 3 point shots) and the Bulls can beat the Magic. Orlando is not a superior team, and while it's likely they will be the Bulls I don't think it's automatic. I am going to be the positive one, I believe if the Bulls get the 3-6 matchup with the Magic, they'll win in 5. Yes, I think the Bulls win in 5.
  12. No need to go over to the ESPN homepage, anymore.
  13. Because he idolizes Casey Jacobsen?
  14. :-)) you've gotten into the spirit of the poll, my friend.
  15. Lou is prolly the Cubs best manager since Zim. And while he does make some :banghead: and :-k moves during the game, it doesn't mean it was a bad move just questionable at best. Those moves become worse if the team loses, or a players gets hurt. I'd still take Lou Piniella over any manager in the game and that includes TLR and Bobby Cox.
  16. Wins, beer, beautiful women, and permanent out of state vocation, and I am one happy bloke.
  17. I might be late on the party on this, but doesn't anybody find ironic that Orlando Cabrera and Nomar Garciaparra are on the same team, now?
  18. I hate to break this, but Lou has always been a Yankee at heart, no matter where he manages. So I am not nor will I be surprise if Lou does become a consultant with the Yankees after his managerial days are over.
  19. I didn't know where to put it, so I thought I put here in minor league section. I remember Greg Miller along with Joel Guzman and Edwin Jackson was going to be THE guys for the Dodgers return to greatness, These three former top prospects remind me of the Mets trio of the 90s, (Isringhausen, Pulsipher and Wilson) in that there were extremely hyped, but ultimately never lived to their potential. Isringhausen was productive as a closer, but memory serves he was supposed to be an ace caliber starter. So I take the Cubs don't hold the patent for disappointing former top prospects.
  20. I usually agree with you, but I think this year is the exception. Since the beginning of the NFL draft the Bears have gone through the draft without having a first or second round pick only twice; 1970 and 1978. For the most part the Bears usually hold onto the 1st and 2nd rd picks at the time of draft, but considering the trade for Cutler, I think you put yourself into a window of opportunity you have take advantage of. I'm not saying give up 1st and 2nd rd picks every yr, because that would be foolish, but periodically forgo draft picks in favor of known quantity is sometimes (not always, mind you) a better bet for a franchise. Now if Harvin, Bey, Hicks, or Iglesias (whom I think the Bears like and would take if given a chance) happens to fall to the 49th pick (which I'm sure one will) that changes your thinking. But again considering you just pull off the trade of the century for your franchise, wouldn't it make more sense to acquire a known quantity at a position you need to upgrade then to acquire an unknown quantity? I do think the Bears will keep the 2nd round pick and take Iglesias (my guess, they just seem to like Igesias, and Sooner boys altogether), but I just think the Bears should consider all options in FA/trades before the draft.
  21. I wouldn't make any decision on who I'd like to see them get based on Mike and Mike. That said, I'd be all over getting Lance Moore too if he didn't cost too much. I don't see that happening though. I know that, but I do like Mike and Mike, and the stories of Plaxico berating an police officer, etc, etc is why I don't want the SOB. Greenie may a good point about Plaxico doesn't play for the fans, his teammates, or the coaches, Plaxico plays for himself. Everything happens on HIS schedule. That's why I don't want him, he isn't a team player.
  22. After careful consideration, and some convincing by Mike Greenberg on Mike and Mike, I will have reversal of thinking on Plaxico Burress. I do not want the SOB near the Bears. I hope he's not a consideration by the Bears front office. I rahter trying to win with Hester and Bennett as the WR, then bring in this arrogant, POC. I much rather try and see if Lance Moore of the Saints can be had, instead of Burress.
  23. Interesting gamble by the Cubs taking potential over major league proven (good or bad) pitcher. Personally, I like the risk for the Cubs. I didn't want to send Patton back to the Rockies and the Cubs definately would have lost Angel Guzman on waivers (the Padres are prolly the most disappointed team with this announcement because you KNOW they were hoping either Patton or Guzman would be exposed to waivers).
