Less competition for starting spots. At his age, that's almost a guaranteed 10 to 12 yrs of World Cup and Euro qualifiers in groups with at least two nations with decent national leagues (and thus visible exposure to coaches/managers of teams within those leagues). Sounds like a smart business decision to me. Not to mention that if he's good enough (I have no clue about his talent level), he'd actually get the chance to play in the World Cup rather than having to settle for getting waxed in Euro and WC qualifiers every few months - and all athletes love to win. I guess if he doesn't think he's good enough to play for us, that's one thing, but those thoughts rarely cross the minds of professional athletes. Well Armenia did beat Belgium in WC 2010 qualifying. Any team of grandma's would have beaten Belgium in the last WC qualifying.
