  1. Because the Diamondbacks wanted a third baseman But they just traded Youk in order to give Middlebrooks the full time job
  2. I read that joke months ago
  3. Garnett was a rumor at the time. Curry was closer to reality
  4. It also has landed a few of them as well. Bobby Simmons, Quentin Richardson, and Mark Aguirre come to mind. 3 players since 1978 is a godawful track record. They might have landed Garnett or Curry if the current rules were in place. And if someone Rosed KG's ACT for him. As a DePaul alum, I can assure you that the academic standards for admittance are pretty low

  6. DePaul has a history of getting a nice little hometown "maybe" before being spurned for the big boy schools.
  7. He's not a homer. He's an incredibly whiny, woe is me, only my team, baby. so Sulley, then
  8. Orlando should just stop answering the phone. They should look at what Denver did with Carmelo and realize that moving Howard quickly is probably not going to land them the best deal. If you don't get exactly what you want, start the season with him and wait for other teams to get desperate.
  9. Holy [expletive], this thing is still on? It's boring and endless
  10. as is the unwritten little league-ish rule about getting everyone in the game no matter what. Participation trophies for everyone! Then they can all celebrate with Ritz Bits and juice boxes!
  11. The "one player per team" requirement is dumb if the game's result is home field advantage in the WS.
  12. Who the hell would trade for him knowing that he's being released? I wonder if they even tried to trade him for an early 2nd to take a guy like Doron Lamb. If you really want him, you don't chance it that he'll come to you in free agency
  13. 2004 was inexcusable. That lineup was sick (didn't Sosa hit 6th?) and the pitching was all there
  14. I think I have one more first half transaction. If so, drop Stanton and add Hamilton
  15. Definitely Cynosure
  16. Everyone's making moves? If by everyone you mean 1/2 dozen teams, youre exactly right.
  17. I'd give them Soriano AND Reed Johnson
  18. Maybe Watson's injury problems are a long term concern
  19. Why would you put a retractable roof on the stadium but then not use it?
  20. Pretty much at the halfway mark (most teams have played 80-82 games) Anyone predict this? AL East: Yankees AL Central: White Sox AL West: Rangers WC 1: Angels WC 2: Orioles NL East: Nationals NL Central: Pirates NL West: Dodgers WC 1: Giants WC 2: Reds
  21. is he bringing his mustache?
  22. Indy will bid on - and almost certainly get, at some point - a national championship game, which would be just as egregious HFA for a B1G team as the Sugar or the Rose. Since no B1G team has finished in the top 4 of the final BCS standings since 2007, it doesn't seem like an immediate issue. But the committee isn't beholden to the BCS rankings.
  23. How about they create a bowl game in Indianapolis that's part of the semi-final rotation?
  24. Boozer didn't have Boozer's jumper out of college either. I love love that pick. Boozer also had a working back
