  1. OKC is so overmatched
  2. It's going to be so exciting see 2 SEC teams in the playoffs every year, leaving the committee to pick between 10-2 Ohio State, 10-2 Texas or 11-1 USC for 2 of the other spots. Then, because they're going to use the BCS bowl sites for the Final Four, the SEC and PAC 12 teams get annual home field advantage. The only way this works is to eventually get to 4 super conferences. The conference title games serve as the first round, then the four conference champs duke it out in the Final Four
  3. any substance on a ball will change it's rotation
  4. especially if the group of people in the room is some horrible mix of AD's, media members and former coaches
  5. Not even close. This is going to be a cluster [expletive] of massive proportions
  6. I don't understand what is so hypocritical, or why people have a problem with what they did. They knew he cheated and was easily bustable, so they had him busted. If he was so stupid to openly cheat with one team and then pull the same stuff while facing them, that's his problem. Hypocracy: "It's ok when you do it for me, but not ok when you do it for anyone else." What Washington did is the very definition of the word. Should Peralta have cheated? Absolutely not. Does he deserve the suspension he's about to receive? Absolutely yes. But Washington letting him get away with it for them, but then busting him as soon as he does it against them was crappy. If they were ok with it then, they should be ok with it now. End of story. So the Nationals should have let an opposing pitcher have an illegal advantage against them for some [expletive] "loyalty" reason?
  7. A team beating another team 3 games in a row has happened a lot of times in the NBA playoffs. To be clear, those were my odds, not Vegas, I imagine those are closer to 12-15 Its just never happened in the finals What makes the finals unique? no idea. Maybe the switch to the 2-3-2 format? All I know is that teams that go up 3-1 in the finals are 30-0 all time

  9. 9:1 odds is pretty generous for something that's never happened
  10. Dickey has pitched back to back 1 hitters and has given up 1 ER over his past 6 starts (0.18 ERA). The guy is going to win the CY at this rate
  11. I'm falling way behind. Someone must be injured
  12. There will always be a group of super fair weather fans who root for all the "best" teams. I work with a guy who is a Heat/Yankees/Patriots/UK fan. I'm sure he'll buy all new gear next year. Which, of course, means he's a fan of nothing. He's a fan of being a fan

  14. We've chosen to make our DL punchless
  15. What's Jeff Pentland up to?
  16. I hope he really is starving. He probably has some leftover chili
  17. Hyperbole is literally the worst thing ever
  18. Can we PLEASE stop projecting future lineups that are comprised entirely of current Cubs minor leaguers? We aren't the [expletive] Pirates or Royals. The FO damn well better be signing FA's to compliment the top prospects when they feel the window is open for a long postseason run (or trade some of the farm hands for other needs)
  19. I choose for this thread to be punch-filled
  20. Boxing was only ever halfway watchable when there were dominant heavy weights. When the best the sport have to offer are 5'4" 130 pounders...YAAAAAAWWWWWNNNN
  21. Gotta root for the Thunder. I want another bitter James face
  22. ballgame
  23. Jeremy Hellickson gave up 1 ER over 108 pitches tonight. Thing is, he only went 4 1/3 innings and walked 7
  24. I read that foul ball fact in the local paper the other day and found it very hard to believe. Yeah it repeats that claim in the SI article but I just can't imagine that's true. So I guess we're supposed to believe that in the entirety of his MLB career he's never gotten out in front of a breaking or offspeed pitch.... Sure, they've just been grounded or line drives, not fly balls
  25. Local radio guys had some unbelievable facts about Joey Votto. For example, he has only popped a ball up in the infield once over the past 2 seasons (and none this year). Also, he has only pulled a fly ball foul into the stands ONCE in his entire career (his rookie year).
