Haven't you heard? All of Illinois south of I-80 has ceceded from the state and has become "East Missouri" I disagree. I'm south of I-80 in Illinois, and I'm getting Cubs/Marlins. You disagree that all of Illinois south of I-80 is now East Missouri? Okay, you win :lol: Down here where I live, everyone thinks they live in Alabama. :roll: I'm being serious here. Believe me, I know: I live in central PA. THe big event of the year is camping out at a state fair and not showering for a week. Seriously. Thank god I live in a college town where there is at least a scrap of culture.

you can't start young 'uns during the early part of the season b/c you're still in it. you can't start young uns during a playoff race b/c they don't have the experience and you can't start them after you're out of the race b/c the guys that have busted their butts to put you out of contention deserve playing time. :roll: Plus, if the youngsters play really well and you start winning, you'll look like a an ass for not having started them all year, so why risk the embarassment?

That's what I thought. Nothing mediocre looking about those numbers. People are complaining we traded away Bear Bay, while Berg has much better numbers (albeit at different levels)

Well, let's see. McClain is a 3B, so he'll sit on the bench, leaving either Nomar or Macias to play. My guess is Macias will get the start at 3rd and leadoff (because Dude is a switch hitter and will matchup against that lefty Willis Dude!)

The Lawton trade really made no sense considering the consensus on this forum already was that we had no chance. AT the same time we had Murton doing good when he played for us. Hendry's move this year have been TERRIBLE!! Bay for Bartosh. Oh God that was bad. This was indeed the first year in the Hendry regime that he failed to land a significant player at the deadline. Disappointing.

I voted for who I wanted to see win it (CLE) because they have shown that you can take an All Star team, tear it down, and rebuild it. Unfotunately they are still trying to win their fan base back.

Well, we now have McClain and Cedeno on the roster, but we're playing a lefty, so I'm sure Perez will somehow end up at 2B again. :roll:
