  1. It's really true. Holtz doesn't watch the games he talks about. And if you ever read any of Morgan's ESPN chat transcripts, he constantly makes excuses for why he doesn't watch any of the games he isn't working. Plus Morgan hates sabermetrics, OBP, and anything vaguely related to Billy Beane.
  2. That's Jeff Blauser and Julio Zuleta, ....but point taken, just the same. Oh god I'm older than I thought. And Dumber. Jeff Blauser just got hired to manage one of Atlanta's minor league teams. And at this point, I would take Henry Rodriguez in the OF over most of what we've heard rumors about.
  3. Can we just implement the slaughter rule in this Texas/Colorado game and start the USC/UCLA game early?
  4. Lose 40 lbs? Just cut off his head
  5. T-minus 86 minutes to kickoff of the Big XII Championship game. As a PSU fan, clearly I want either Texas or USC to lose (or both), and LSU losing to Georgia would also take away any chance that the Tigers could jump the Nittany Lions in the poll. Not that I see this happening. Orange Bowl here we come!
  6. Great post. Only thing you failed to mention was that Sisco went on to KC for a 2-5, 3.11, 75.1 IP, 76K, 42 BB, 1.46 WHIP year. Not spectacular (though he did lead the team in ERA had had slightly more than a K/IP) but worth protecting? Yessir! He would have been a great LOOGY, holding lefties to a .216/.297/.318 line.
  7. There is no way Dusty plays both Murton and Cedeno every day. Replace Murton with Mabry and Cedeno with Macias, and THAT is the worst case scenario
  8. The fact that Insider would consider Texas out ofthe BCS if they lose is ridiculous to me. If SC and Texas both lost this weekend, I'd fully expect them to be the two at-large teams to replace ND and O$U, leaving the Irish in the Gator Bowl as they were as a BCS-eligible team in 2002. Hey look, we agree on something! No way USC and Texas drop completely out of the BCS picture if they lose this week. That would really be a black eye on the system
  9. As a college football fan, as well as a Northwestern fan who saw them early in the season, let me tell you that they could very easily have two by now. Penn State could also very easily have zero losses by now, as they lost one very close game and won one. Similarly, Northwestern could very easily have another loss if they hadn't gotten lucky on the onside kick versus Iowa. Hell, USC could've easily had a loss if Leinart hadn't fumbled the ball out of bounds against ND. That's the way college games work, you get an L or a W, and hopefully the close games even out in the end. Northwestern also beat NIU by just 1 point.
  10. Good point. Less money of course when you drop lower in the draft, but I would much rather land on a team like the Redskins or Raiders than on Houston or Arizona. Also, on paper, ND's schedule looks a little tougher next year. Despite playing three branches of the Armed Forces, ND does lose the two Big East flops (Syracuse and Pitt) and adds a pair of mid-level ACC squads (Georgia Tech and North Carolina). Plus Penn State, Michigan and UCLA at home and USC on the road to end the season. Seems like a tough road to the National Championship
  11. All division games are equally important. The "rivalry" aspect of the Bears-Packers just serves as motivating tool. I find it amusing that like Cubs vs. Sox, this rivalry is not perceived equally from both sides. Bears fans HATE the Packers, Packers fans HATE........the Vikings.
  12. Tough one, right?
  13. Somehow the mismatch this year takes some luster off this game. Plus, I don't think beating the Packers is any more important than beating Detroit or Minnesota
  14. Quinn doesn't ant the Heisman. It's the NFL kiss of death. Great ending to that MAC Title game. No chance NIU will get picked up for a bowl anyways?
  15. I tried posting a poll and got a whole slew of errors
  16. Tough, I know.
  17. Tough, I know.
  18. Tough, I know.
  19. Tough, I know.
  20. USC is still favored by 2 or 3 touchdowns though, right?
  21. i can't even post (if this went through it's a miracle)
  22. Anyone else having trouble accessing the league today? It's giving me an error and saying I'm not a member of the league...

  24. I think the auto-bids for conferences is fine, though it's unfair that 1/2 the conferences have title games and the other 1/2 don't. In other words, Penn State has no chance of losing their spot to, say, Northwestern in a Big Ten title game. Same goes for WVa and USC. the counter argument, of course, is that if Texas and Va Tech are as good as we think, there is no worry of them getting upset. PS - I updated the Bowl comittments on the firsr post of this thread
  25. Maybe someone can mak Bruce a "Bruce Miles Headshot" avatar. Then people will believe!
