  1. we'll be in much better shape this offseason with 3 draft picks and enough money to sign at least one big man. Sure, as long as they don't pull ANOTHER Hendry and fail to use their money to actually sign an impact player. I do worry about this as the Bulls really haven't signed a marquee player since, well, the Jordan years
  2. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem you're alone. i'm sure i'll end up watching the 2nd game, but i have no feelings one way or the other for either NFC team. My brother in law is a big Steelers fan, so I guess I'll root for them what with the Bears predictble demise
  3. I think i said this about 28 pages back, but the Bulls sorta pulled a "Hendry" this past off season. - With no draft picks, they added no youth - they brought back mainly the same team, assuming they would be good enough to duplicate last year's success - they overpaid a player they overvalue (Chandler) - they rid themselves of a "headache" for low value and underestimated the drop in production caused by the move (Curry)
  4. what was up with the clock not stopping on 1st downs in that game? Don't know. That was weird. Probably had to do with trying to keep the game at 3 hours or less. I only watched the last two minutes, though. me too. That one long play went out of bounds with about 1:30 left but the clock kept running, and it kept running on that bomb to the 1 yard line. And how uncreative a play call for the final play. They took a time out and that was the best they could come up with?
  5. Because Alan Benes and Matt Morris were just too dominant for us to resign. They both play for the Yankees now. We just need some arms to fill in around Rick and Bud. As long as you still have Darryl Kile as your #3 you should be alright
  6. Peter Angelos can go take a flying leap at the moon. He's got 1 vote out of 30. Charlotte is 440 miles from Baltimore. If only it worked that way. He somehow seems to strongarm his way to a bit better than a 1 in 30 vote. Charlotte is not in "that area". Angelos has nothing to say about it. Well, he'll have something to say about it, but yes, there is a buffer zone of Virginia that will hopefully shut his pie hole
  7. I'll be all over the first game, and don't give a fig about the 2nd game.

  9. Fixed
  10. Yeah, cause the Mets will need an OVERRATED lefty to replace Glavine when Tom leaves. 86-56, 3.50 career is overrated?

  12. OSU moves to 4-2 in the conference. PSU moves to all time leaders in missing layups and giving up long rebounds.
  13. Penn State just can't stop the 3-pointer....now down by 12
  14. Actually, they're tied for 9th right now. And a few years ago, we would have been thrilled with that. Now it's just sad.
  15. PSU got their 19th known verbal comittment from Virginia's Gatorade Player of the Year, RB Evan Royster. He's 6'0", 190 lbs. and rushed for over 2100 yds and 30 TD's in his senior year. He made official visits to PSU, Oklahoma and Nebraska.
  16. Sadly, despite the last place standing and losing record, the Bulls are still in the 8th spot in the East.
  17. I have a sorta sketchy source in TB who says that either huff or lugo (or both) could have beenhad but hendry wouldn't give up guzman...
  18. I have many, many great memories of the MJ years which I wouldn't trade. sorry
  19. pardon me, but i just woke up from a 3 year coma......why would this be an issue with Ankiel and Bud Smith fronting the rotatopn?
  20. Don't forget Buck and McCarver on FOX!
  21. right, like Peter Angelos would allow a 3rd team in that area
  22. My all white team is holding their own, though Peja's injury is going to cost me
  23. There is some truth to it. For example, the Cubs don't match up well against soft tossing rookie lefties because they have zero patience and don't just walk in 8 runs an inning like they should.
  24. He also attended the Penn State camps during the summer. So, I'd have to think that if he does not want to attend UM, that PSU would be his choice over Virginia. Several people have said that he will be visiting PSU on one of the next two weekends. This would be a big steal if he became a Lion, and probably give PSU a top 5 class nationally. EDIT - I just read a couple of other interviews of him immediately after the QB coach was fired, and he still sounded very committed to Miami... so obviously his commitment is not as solid. How much he is uncertain... that remains to be seen. Penn State would be a good opportunity for him. Morellis is a Jr. next year, meaning this kid could redshirt his first year, backup Morelli his RSFr. year, and then start for 3 seasons (potentially). I'm not sure how good the kid who will back up Morelli next year is, but if this kid is really great, he would likely jump him in the depth chart.
  25. Oden had 33 points, 17 boards and 6 blocks. The announcers called him the best defensive (high school) center they've ever seen. The dude is 18 and looks about 25. There ought to be an investigation.
