    I think that's what they said. He's pitching the final game of the season, so working backwards, that would make sense.

    why further wreck Hill's confidence at this point? who's to say he'd pitch poorly? can't just not play him for the rest of the year to make sure his feelings don't get hurt. and i'd rather see him out there today than have him be asked to throw three innings after sitting for a month. Fair enough. Dusty is more likely to allow Wuertz to let the go-ahead run on base with 0 outs, THEN put Hill in, just to make sure there is as much pressure on him as possible.

    Yep. They started 15-30 this year, and lost their first 21 of 23 on the road.

    Because the Cubs orgainization will always look at your best season in their uniform to evaulate you in the present. Rusch was good last year, thus he deserves to start. This is why the team is screwed if they are counting on a repeat performance from Lee next year (which I'm sure they will, which means they won't press hard enough to upgrade the offense)

    I rank this up there with flag burning and that NBA dude who wouldn't stand for the National Anthem. It's AM Radio fodder without much substance. This country can't even figure out if the 10 commandments belong on public display or not (two different courts ruled differently on this in the same week). When we solve all our other problems, then we can worry about money, the pledge, and landing a man on the moon.

    Why have such big milestones? Why not $3 million base and $10,000 per plate appearance? You could have somebody from the front office meet him as he gets back to the dugout with a stack of $100's. He should have a sack with a $ sign on it that he keeps with him in the dugout at all times (and holds up for the WGN cameras whenever they pan over to him) :lol:

    Why is Lee getting not AL Cy Young buzz? 17-4, 3.75 ERA...i'll take it. Santana has fewer wins (I know, I know, wins aren't everything) but this guys has been a major reason for Cleveland's success.
