If the Sox are winning, you mute during their half of the inning, then you turn the volume back on for their opponent assuming it's a close game. There's no better sound in baseball than the sound of silence emerging from the White Sox booth when they lose a lead. Isn't that wierd? I mean, you can hear a pin drop. Most announcers lament their own team's inadequacies, or marvel at what the other team just did. Those guys just clam up completely. I wish they would clam up more often. Compared to the Caray/Stone days, it's like night and day. Caray and Stone would fill every second of the broadcast with announcing, while it seemed like 50% of a Sox game is dead air. What do they pay those guys for? (well, I know DJ is paid to carry Hawk's jock around for him :lol: )
