  2. HA HA HA. The NL is like the Democratic Party of baseball. They can't do anything right. /NL fan //democrat /// :(
  3. Truffle, i'm a huge fan of the "one group, one lineup" thing, as in John, Paul, George, and Ringo...and as you pointed out Paige, Bonham, Plant and Jones. As you can see from my rant on page 1 about Lynyrd Skynyrd. However, it should be known that all those different groupings came about AFTER their plane crash, and thus, after the REAL Lynyrd Skynyrd had gone. After the crash they never had another hit, naturally...BECAUSE THE REAL SKYNYRD DIDN'T EXIST ANYMORE!!!....Grrr....I hate those guys posing as Skynyrd these days. well if that's the feeling, I don't feel so bad about leaving out Journey or other bands that do similar things. Journey's only remaining original member is the keyboard player, yet they are still on tour
  4. my game thread wasn't good enough for you?
  5. I don't like the font of the "experts" part, but otherwise pretty good work.
  6. Brad Penny vs. Kenny Rogers? Seriously?
  7. SHUT UP ABOUT THE STUPID PIXIES! I GUARANTEE THEY WOULD HAVE LOST LIKE 1001343 TO YOU
  8. I heard Phish cover this song at one of their shows and have liked the song ever since. More so the Phish version than the original, but still. Frankly, one of my favorite parts of a Phish show was seeing which covers they'd play. They opened this particular show (at Alpine Valley) w/ Ramble On and BCS was in the encore. Great stuff. "Stop" and "3 Days" are, IMO, the best songs on that album. If anyone has only heard "...Stealing", they owe it to themselves to check these others out
  9. It's too bad that Jane's Addiction's most famous song is "Been Caught Stealing", which is far and away their worst song ever and sounds nothing like any of their other songs.
  10. Dude, "People Are Strange". All aboard the "Crystal Ship" everybody and vote for the Doors! Do i ever need to bring up the Alabama Song? Sure why not, Well, show me the way to the next whiskey bar, oh dont ask why. Awesome! The Alabama Song is cool because it's from a Kurt Weil opera ("The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahogony")
  11. agreed. It's sad that Neil Young (a Canadian) writes better southern rock than Skynyrd. Well I heard mister Young sing about her Well, I heard ole Neil put her down Well, I hope Neil Young will remember A Southern man don't need him around anyhow Nuff said. As Ole Miss said, they were from Florida, not Alabama. And as you said, Neil Young is from Canada. Yes, but Young didn't write a song that was clearly a lie. A bunch of guys from Floria writing a song about their sweet home in Alabama is, to me, a complete marketing ploy to get rednecks to like your music. And since true southerners don't consider Florida a southern state....

  14. yep I have to admit - I finally voted b/c I just wanted to see how close it was. you can click on "view vote results" without actually voting
  15. It's a fine line. Hendrix or Jimi Hendrix Experience? Petty or Petty and the Heartbreakers? Springsteen or E Street Band? Dave Matthews or DMB?
  16. Same here. Crappy dinosaur rock, I hate everything about them. As a backhanded compliment I could say that bands like Rush were largely responsible for the rise of punk rock, so in that sense you could say they made a positive contribution by showing everybody what the exact opposite of coolness is. I also resent critics who lump Pink Floyd in with Rush and Yes as "art rock". Pink Floyd is 100101010101020330402304230 times better than either Rush or Yes.
  17. then the Dead go into a 23 minute version of Space and Drums, forget how much time is left, and let the clock expire while spinning in place
  18. I accept that blame
  19. I have to say, Rush is one of my least favorite bands of all time. They are the most over-bloated, show-offy group of musicians of all time. Hey Neil, I think you need to buy 10 more drums!
