I'm not asserting that Oden will fail. I'm just saying that it will take more than dunking over/blocking the shots of other high schoolers before i'm convinced he's the next coming...

Yeah, Lebron James, too. Congratulations for citing the one inarguably brilliant high school player in the NBA. Need I list all the "can't miss" highschoolers who burnt out? Or the fact that Kobe Bryant was a mid first rounder? You just don't know. And as someone else said, comparing a guard/forward's talent in high school to a seven footer is apples and oranges. Did you intentionally cut out the rest of 1908's post because it proved the first half of your post wrong? No, I'm not ignoring it. I'd like to see some actual numbers to back this up though. There is also a matter of sample size here, as many, many more college players were drafted in the same span as a smaller group of high schoolers, and clearly only the best of the best high schoolers would even declare.

I'm not sold on Oden until he actually dominates at the college level. Dominating at high school is something Tyson Chandler and Eddy Curry did.

The Chandler for PJ Brown rumor was just on ESPNews And yeah, Wallace is SO overrated. I mean what a slacker! Only 4 Defensive Player of the Year awards in 6 years? What's the matter? Couldnt win all 6? What a loser!

I have very mixed feelings of this. Our frontcourt is going to have very little offense. Imagine if we trotted out a lineup of Hinrich- Gordon - Wallace (PF) - Chandler -Thomas Ugh. Or imagine if we trotted out a lineup of Hinrich, Gordon, Deng, Nocioni, Wallace. SWEET

Paxson is the anti-Hendry. Who thought he could rebuild this dreadful Bulls team as quickly as he has? Wow. Signing Wallace as a FA trumps trading Gordon/Deng/Noch for anyone. Awesome. I can't wait for the fall now. This move is doubly great because it weakens a division rival. Nothing like signing away players from the division champs!
