  1. I'm pro-wild card and, I guess, anti-4 divisions per league. And I don't know why you're hung up on the Yankees and Red Sox. i'm not. I don't care if one of them is left out every year. Look at the year when the Braves and Giants each won over 100 games and one didn't make it to the playoffs. And those are the specific instances I'm talking about. You're making it seem like I specifically want the Yankees and Red Sox to make the playoffs every year which isn't the case. If those two teams are two of the best four teams in the AL, then yes they both should make the playoffs. And that goes for any two teams in the same division, not just the Yankees and the Red Sox. Take this year, for example. The Brewers and Cubs seem to be two of the best four teams in the NL. If there was a 4 division format with four teams per division, one of the two would miss the playoffs. And that's not right. No sport ever has the teams with the best records make the playoffs. The only way to do that is to eliminate all league/conference/division set ups and just take the top 8 records to the playoffs. It doesnt' happen, and I think it's part of the charm of pro sports. Your ability to make the playoffs is never entirely in your own hands
  2. Cuban looks like Wil Wheaton in that photo
  3. Chipper's counting stats probably make this a moot point, but he played ~2 seasons worth of games in the OF
  4. NY Giants. 2007-8. I don't mean having a QB that fans/media didn't believe in. I mean a team entering camp not having a clue who their QB was going to be. Eli was the QB from the start no matter what the fans wanted
  5. the truth is, contending teams don't enter training camp with open QB auditions. Name me the last team who had a "quarterback controversy/battle" in training camp who did anything with their season?
  6. LOL To be fair, Dempster was horrendous in 06. I know, I'm not picking on Mojo, just funny how things change
  7. Brian Roberts should be leading off, amirite?
  8. Burnitz used to eat us for lunch when he was on the Brewers
  9. that's right brian, it's all the umps fault
  10. he is NOT a clutch player. should've bunted
  11. which is why I don't think Jones can make it another year without getting into trouble. he more or less told the league to eff off when it came to discipline problems and didn't seem to improve his behavior despite multiple fines and suspensions.
  12. threw the pitch, it got whacked, and he immediately threw his hands up in the air in complete exasperation
  13. Details? As long as the ball hit Sori's bat he threw his hands up. I couldn't tell if it was to the catcher, like "I told you we should have gone with the slider." Or maybe "man I suck." I think it was more like "what do I have to throw to get these guys out?"
  14. Imagine if Soriano could just once go through a season fully healthy
  15. If Theriot goes yard I'm gonna poop my shorts
