  1. chickens, eggs, hatching, etc.
  2. so you're weighing the teams' Sagarin ratings against the ratings of their remaining opponents to derive the probabilities? If so, isn't Florida's SOS much higher than PSU's?
  3. right, I'm asking what data you used to derive the %'s
  4. There is no fudging with the data. You get what you get. what data?
  5. how are you not calling in sick or something on the night of game 6? I probably made $700 or $800 that day Guess that makes sense since it was only the NLCS. If it was a clinching game in the WS I would have called in sick. WS seemed like a foregone conclusion. I definitely would have skipped work for WS games
  6. how are you not calling in sick or something on the night of game 6? I probably made $700 or $800 that day
  7. i can attempt my all-white guy team again
  8. i missed games 6 and 7 of the 2003 NLCS because I was at work. we had the game on (minus sound) in one little monitor in the studio but I couldn't really pay attention. someone mentioned something about fan interference and later that we lost
  9. proud, are you? what does the video prove, exactly? that were some drunk frat boys at penn state? we already knew that. those guys were kicked out of school and the fraternity was suspended after this incident. but my guess is that you like to pretend that this is normal behavior for penn state fans. guess what? it's not.
  10. i'm probably only going to watch sunday's game. Debate tonight, PSU/Illini tomorrow night
  11. i knew that was coming. OSU fans have never done that to Michigan fans by the way. nope, not once
  12. no couple got screwed out of anything. There are far more babies available for adoption than there are families to adopt them.
  13. or you could put our ACTUAL backup 2b (Fontenot) at second.
  14. I'll take the Brewers throwing 3 straight perfect games at us this weekend if it means no more hurt players.
  15. The first game I went to period was when I was 3 or 4. Veteran's stadium, Phillies vs. Reds. Tom Seaver pitched (he was, for some reason, my "favorite" player as a preschooler). Possibly this game: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/PHI/PHI197906150.shtml
  16. sorry if this was posted elsewhere
  17. my sample size argument was just to point out that one 5-5 game does not make him "the guy". I don't really like Daryle Ward that much, so if Hoffpauir replaced him as a late inning PH guy, great. But let's not start pretending like Hoffpauir should start every game. I know his numbers have been great in AAA, but so were Pie's, Dubois', etc., etc. prove me wrong, Micah, prove me wrong
  18. so all of you non-Illinois guys who got tickets.....how many are actually going to the game and how many are selling them off?
  19. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN199304250.shtml April 25, 1993 Reds score 1 in the top of the first, then nothing at all until the Cubs score 2 in the bottom of the 9th for the victory. Frank Castillo gives up 1 run and 3 hits in 7 1/3 but gets the ND.
  20. Or the 2005 Orange Bowl. was there a game-winning statue of liberty play by a team from Idaho in that one too?
  21. *re-watches highlights of 2007 Fiesta Bowl*
  22. sample size
  23. I had the quarter system through undergrad and grad school. You end up with 2 fewer weeks of school, but getting summer jobs sucks when you're competing with semester students
  24. as awesome as my town last weekend?
