    announcers have all but said that the scoring is bull-ish. Bela Korli (sp?) has been outright saying that there has been cheating by just about everyone. Hooray for the purity of amateur athletics!

    And those that ARE broadcast in HD but not available to people outside the Chicago area because stupid DirecTV doesn't have WGN-HD. Tough to know who to blame about it. Is DirecTV unwilling to show it? Is WGN difficult to negotiate with? There are a few other channels that DirecTV doesn't have in HD yet (Travel Channel, etc.) but you never hear why.

    Somewhere, Gorman Thomas is crying in his fu man chu Outside of that 1982 team, there isn't much to love about the Brewers. That was my favorite team as a kid. I probably went to 4 or 5 games that year. I still have my Robin Yount jersey-shirt that my mom made when I was 7 I went back and looked at that team for sentimental reasons (it was really my first favorite team) and I think they're one of the most underrated teams of the past 30 years. 95 wins, AL Pennant, lost a close series to the Cardinals in October. Home run totals were pretty crazy: Gorman Thomas: 39 Ben Oglive: 34 Cecil Cooper: 32 Robin Yount: 29 Ted Simmons: 23 Paul Molitor: 19 Four guys with 100+ RBI (and Simmons with 97). Lead the AL in Runs, AB's, HR and SLG and were 2nd in Hits, Doubles and Batting Average.

    many in State College speculate that Paterno won't leave unless the school promises to make an internal hire for the next head coach. also, since PSU has been getting such a huge bargain at head coach all these years, some think they'll never break the bank to get the next Urban Meyer

    I can't believe I stayed up until 1:30 last night watching the men's all around. Every time someone was positioned for the silver medal they fell. It was kinda crazy. The French guy who won bronze was a complete wreck when the final standings were posted; he as given a 0% chance of medaling in this meet.
