  1. Maybe Riccardi learned from DePo to fear the media...MacDonald should send a check to Plaschke. Ricciardi and Depooooo wouldnt know a prospect if it were Babe Ruth in front of them. DePo gets no credit for Kemp, Loney, and Martin? . Not at all period, they were all signed and drafted by Logan White who should be getting some considerations for a Gm, all three of these guys were drafted and signed before Mr Personality came to the Dodgers and White is still with the Dodgers.Tell the truth, did DePo sleep with your wife? People need to know the scoreboard and the fact is Logan White had everything to do with Kemp, Loney and Martin and Depo had nothing to do with them! Can you tell me who is responsible for Brad Penny and Lowe? Who cleared the way for Martin? Who avoided the mistake of re-signing Beltre? Was it a good move giving Drew the opt-out clause? Hinsight is 20-20, but there was a lot of blame on JH for doing the same to Ramirez.

He's right though. Those are the facts of the situation. I understand why people like Depo because they agree with his philosophies, thats fine too. He's not immune to criticism though, he had faults like everyone else.
  3. You're not the only one. Why? What specifically concerns you? I'm not saying he's a Cy Young candidate or anything, but I am beyond pleased with what he has given the Cubs this year.
  4. Are you taking a contrarian position? Say it isn't so! Doesn't mean he's wrong. And it doesn't mean he's exactly right either. At this (key word here) point in time, I'd rather have Lilly starting the game compared to anyone of the other options in the rotation.
  5. Right now Granderson has 36 doubles, 21 homers, and 22 triples. Freak. Yep, and one poster in particular was trying to temper everyone's enthusiam about the callup of Pie earlier this year by saying "we just called up a Granderson-esque player, big deal". If Pie turns into Granderson then I would gladly take it.
  6. Looks like the Brewers are going to win. It would be huge for the Cubs to get the win today and hopefully a St. Louis loss. I'd love the chance of knocking the Cardinals back to 4 games tomorrow.
  7. One of JH better trades comes thru once again.
  8. Its raining. Like it always seems to do when the Cubs are in Pittsburgh.
  9. Kellen Lewis is pretty good young QB for IU. 3 passing TD's and 4 rushes for 48 yards at the half. So is 6-7 WR James Hardy.
  10. It wouldn't be a NSBB offseason without clamoring for the next great Japanese hope.
  11. I'm actually looking more forward to this game then any other this year. Zambrano HAS to have a good performance tonight. Outside of Bay, he has pretty good numbers against the rest of their lineup. This team, if it wants to have any chance of making the playoffs, has to beat these kinds of teams. Get the win tonight and you have the chance to take the series tomorrow. Winning 2 in a row would be huge going into Monday's game against the Cardinals.
  12. Johnny Narron, Jerry Narron's brother. The Reds, not surprisngly, retained him after jerry Narron was fired.
  13. I don't see how people can say that - this is a ~ .500 team and is going to play this way nearly half the time. Agreed, what your seeing now is what they are. They weren't as bad as they started the year, and they aren't as good as they showed in June. This is the true reflection of this team.
  14. Did I miss something? Why is everyone calling him Adolfo now?
  15. Once again as if it matters if he had given up 1 run in 6 innings the Cubs offense still cant score. Our offense is a joke Dude, are you going to do this again? Our "ace" as most people refer to him has given up 6 runs in 6 innings. Don't even try to pin tonight's loss on the offense. How can you not blame the damn offense? You cant win when you score 0 [expletive] runs You also can't win when you give up a run an inning. Yes, the offense has sucked tonight. But Rich Hill is the reason we're losing. What the hell is Ronny Cedeno doing in the batters box? At least Lou is using him when the game is already lost. Its not an all or nothing type thing. The offense shares as much blame for this loss as Rich does. Sorry, can't agree. As much of the blame? Hill can't control the amount of run support he gets, he can control how much he gives up. I agree, the offense isn't blameless here. But asking them to score 6+ runs is asking quite a bit. Asking Rich to give up less than 6 isn't.
  16. If this team somehow lucks into a playoff birth, could they phantom DL Blanco and use the K-Rod clause to put Soto on the playoff roster?

Sure you can't win if you don't score, but also dont win very often when your SP gives up 6 runs.
  18. Once again as if it matters if he had given up 1 run in 6 innings the Cubs offense still cant score. Our offense is a joke It would have mattered quite a bit to only be down 1, instead of 6.
  19. You just dont stop do you? His numbers on the season are good, but whatever Im not getting into this argument I don't stop with what? That I didn't buy into the super-hype exepcting him to put up a full season of dominating performances? He is highly ovverrated around here. Why can't I make that claim without being attacked for it?
  20. Someone please tell me again why Hill is so great...
  21. I don't know what to think of Rich anymore. I thought some of the pre-season hype around here was a bit optimistic. All in all he's had an OK year, but I think too many were expecting his 2nd half run of last year to continue.
  22. So because hes late to a game, he has a garbage attitude? I'm not going to make any claims about his attitude. But he was obviously late to more than just one game. it was mentioned he had the same problem in Iowa as well.
  23. I think Jeter could be on both the overrated and underrated lists...
  24. Would love to hear your reasons why. Overrated compared to the amount of attention he attracts from media types? His career numbers are very, very good. I understand being sick of the guy because of the attention he gets, but there is no denying he is a very good player. You can be a very good player and overrated. I understand that, but if that is "overrated", I'd take 9 of them please.
