  1. I've been a big supporter of Kielty for a few years. He mashes lefties and has a good OBP. However, Kielty cannot help this team much and acquiring him at the present time is kinda pointless.
  2. I'm guessing this is in preparation for the World Series, since you have 9 position players listed there. Beat ya. *attempt to cover up error* Nah, I hear we're trying DeRosa as a pitcher since he plays everywhere else. *attempt to cover up error*
  3. QFT. If we're gonna get another outfielder to start, he had better be a Griffey or a Dunn or someone that would be worth keeping over Murton.
  4. Sizemore is probably one of the most untouchable players in all of baseball. Fine, I'll settle for Carl Crawford. :D
  5. An idea that most of us have thought of, and I'm sure Hendry has been toying with the idea. Another instance of Phillips telling us something we already know. But, as long as we don't give up much, I would not mind seeing: Lofton Riot Lee Ramirez Soriano DeRosa Floyd Fontenot Kendall Not great but it is better than some of the lineups we've thrown out this year, and it gives more potential of better run production. Personally, I'd rather see us acquire Grady Sizemore, put him in right and bat him leadoff. Guess I'm gonna be left dreaming on that one.
  6. Stupidity > Steve Phillips
  7. Not surprising. I'd rather have Gallagher work on his pitches than be middle reliver in blowout games.
  8. I blame CT. But seriously, what's with all the hate here? Can't we all just get along?
  9. The Kearns trade last year proved he isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. But agreed, ths would be a really really really dumb move for the Reds. Hendry should definitely get in the middle of this, but he probably won't.
  10. Not good. Cmon, Jim, you can propose such a better trade.
  11. Krivsky does love those relief pitchers.
  12. Well, we actually got them to take Izzy. Would it be far to dream for one of these guys as the PTBNL? :P
  13. ARGH!!!! #*&@#*($&@#*($&@#*$& DOUBLE ARGH @#*($&@#*($&@#*($&@#$ And, a few words I'm not allowed to type here. Sorry Jake, but we had to dump our garbage somewhere and apparantly your Pittsburgh Pirates wanted him. I wonder how my Pirates fans friends from Penn State are reacting. Is Littlefield still the GM? How does he still have a job?
  14. Ditto. Yanks will be buyers. Again. I think Dmitri Young is headed to NY. With all that money, all that pressure to win, and being a mere 6/7 games out of the playoffs--in mid-July, no less--there is no chance they are sellers. The Cubs' best opportunities for trades will be with the usual suspects. Attention Jim Hendry: just hang up the phone when Baltimore calls. Please. Andy Phillips has been playing rather well since he was called up and has been clutch for them. Everything is clicking for them right now and I don't see them upgrading at first base quite yet.
  15. IZZY IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Cubs are giving me a late birthday present. :D
  16. It was only one game...but it wasn't pretty. At least he didn't strike out! :P And there's the silver lining
  17. Maybe as a spare part in a deal, but I doubt teams would want him enough to not take other, better players in a trade.
