  1. I loved the lineup we sent up yesterday. I think I'd be left dreaming to think I'd see that on a regular basis.
  2. Woo, I actually get to watch the Cubs 3 days in a row  (I don't get WGN at home, only at school)
  3. Old, overpaid and underproductive. I wouldn't want him even if we got him for a bucket of used baseballs.
  4. If the O's take a bit of Hernandez's salary, and we do not have to give up a decent prospect, I could live with acquiring him. However, I don't think the O's will feel the same way about that one. We already have a Millar type player who comes at a cheaper price, his name is Daryl Ward. Aubrey Huff is having a down year, and while his stock is really low and coming to Wrigley might get his numbers up, I doubt he'd help enough to warrant acquiring him. Now, if the O's were to trade us Bedard, Ray, or Markakis, that's another story.
  5. Interesting. Is Dempster not on schedule? I though they'd wait to add a 12th pitcher until he comes back. Koyie Hill DFA?
  6. Not sure who the three teams are but I heard that the other GMs are referring to them as Dumb, Dumber and Dumbest. Bowden, Daniels, and Krivsky? Krivsky may give us Dunn if we can convince him that Izzy contributes a lot of RGIs and can double as a relief pitcher.
  7. He's in the last year of his contract and I'm assuming the Cubs would pick some of the remaining money up, so he would be a fairly cheap "solution" to anyone desperately needing middle infield help. That's desparation at its finest.
  8. I have a feeling that most of the NY fans booing him don't know what OPS is and they just think he sucks because he didn't hit 50 homers. So you're saying Yankee fans are stupid. I concur. I'm sure most fans of any team don't know what OPS is i wouldn't argue with that.
  9. Shea's supposedly a Todd Walker-esque clubhouse cancer. Already have Izturis and Jones complaining about PT - don't need another whiner. Hoops Couldn't agree more. Hendry just traded an apparant clubhouse cancer in Barrett. I doubt he'd be interested in adding a more publicized one in Hillenbrand.
  10. I have a feeling that most of the NY fans booing him don't know what OPS is and they just think he sucks because he didn't hit 50 homers.
  11. SS Julio Lugo, Red Sox (.197/.270/.298) Gotta love those big contracts that blow up in the team's face.
  12. Well, the sharp increase in his numbers at AAA last year vs his career totals and seasons prior indicated either this or suddenly everything somehow clicked for him.
  13. Interesting. Holliman's been pretty dominant. I thought he'd get the call-up.
  14. :Stuart Scott: Boo ya! :Stuart Scott:
  15. I wouldn't want that. I think Murton projects to be better than Nady, and as TT stated, the Pirates might be more inclined to hang onto him because he's not very expensive.
  16. I like Moore, but he is blocked at both 3B and 1B. I feel he can be an above average starter and a decent platoon/ back up.
  17. Hehehehehehehe This made my day
  18. Sorta..... Maybe Eyre should try this tactic.
  19. I think it'd be hilarious if this happened tomorrow. Ha, I had the same thought.
  20. It was either in today's tribune or sun-times that I read that there are still teams interested in Jones and that "his last at-bat with the cubs may have been in the sixth innning yesterday" and that it's very likely he could be gone by the weekend. AKA: Get your hopes up, only for nothing to happen. I'm sure Hendry is working the phones hard before Friday's game since Lou wants to get back to 12 pitchers. I just doubt he's going to be able to trade Jacque if he's not allowed to pick up a huge portion of the contract. Agreed. I do believe JH is trying to do his best, but if we don't pick up at least $5-6 million, I don't see Jones going anywhere until possibly a team gets desparate at the deadline. I don't think desparate is a strong enough word for a sorry ballclub that comes to us for Jones. How about every outfielder in their system becomes simultaneously injured?
