    Willits or Figgins? It's gotta be Willits. SH player who can fill in at a bunch of positions, including CF, and is rumored to be sent down to the minors by the Angels. In fact, a Marquis for Willits trade seems so logical, considering the Angels pitching woes (Lackey and Escobar both injured). Angels fans would probably want a prospect thrown in as well. How about Lahey? Is he really gonna make this team?

    I thought one of the reasons the A's are releasing him is because they feel he can't play CF.

    No thanks, not at that price. And his career line away from Coors looks like: .274/.324/.417/.741 Whereas at Coors, his career OPS is .899.

    I'd rather them take Marquis. At least if Dempster sucks he can still crack a joke or make us laugh with one of his antics.

    His production is unacceptable at any position. he'd be a good hitting pitcher unfortunately i don't think his fastball could top 37 mph. Pierre fastball would be called the noodle. "Watch it Johnny, he might throw the noodle!" It may work at first. Batters would be used to heat and then have to face a 30 mph fastball and was swing way to early. Then after a few innings they'd catch on and Pierre's ERA would be so high that Shaq couldn't touch it. I'm thinking the Bugs Bunny effect where the hitter swings 3 times during one pitch and strikes out. Seems about right.

    I would give the edge to Pierre, simply because GMJ can provide occasional pop, and a great glove. Whereas Pierre lone attribute is his speed. So, I would incline to say Pierre got the worst contract during the 2007 offseason, heck you can even say his contract is the worse in the past 15-20 yrs. Mike Hampton and Carl Pavano say hi.
