  1. i would consider that ok with me for an all-star 2B Mark Loretta is an all-star 2B. Do you want him to? Wasn't Neifi an All-Star?
  2. I would. I'm not convinced at all that Cedeno will ever be much of a hitter and Veal has some very serious question marks. Gallagher is a big loss, but Roberts helps this team quite a bit too. I wouldn't be dancing in the street over the trade, but I think it would be a net improvement for the Cubs. After what we've seen from Cedeno, I'm not entirely convinced that he'd produce well at the major league level. Sure he's young and his minor league numbers are tremendous. But he hasn't hit in the majors when given the opportunity. Veal wasn't great last year and though I'd include him in the trade, I did want to see what he was capable of this season. Gallagher I got over awhile ago because I assumed he was always going to be included.
  3. Oh how far the Cards have fallen from their undeservable grace.
  4. I'd actually love to see that.
  5. Be happy there are only 2 teams involved for once. I swear, everytime I see a Backtobanks post, I assume it's a three way trade proposal.
  6. Sad to hear. Get better Rick
  7. The Giants are talking to the Tigers about Brandon Inge. Definitely a rebuilding move.
  8. If the Cubs HAD signed Lincecum (47th rd pick in the 2003 draft), the Cubs we wouldn't be yearning about trading for him.....But doing that what if is a slippery slide. Going that route, you could also say "What if the Cubs signed Khalil Greene?"
  9. Haven't we had scouts looking at him since ST games started? Why is this different?
  10. Well, how much playing time is he due to get this season because that would have a part in how much the D-Backs ask in return for him. I don't know what his defense is like at shortstop but he could be an interesting option.
  11. I figured as much, but they don't sem shy about taking offers for Cain and Lowry.
  12. Koyie Hill's still around. I forgot he existed.
  13. If we can avoid another month I will be happy. Oh, cmon, we have to get this thread to 300 pages.
  14. Glasses usually make you look smarter. I'd say in Farnsy's case it's the opposite. At least in that mug.
  15. when you're too old and busted for San Fran or Baltimore, it's time to hang em' up
  16. Hooray! and next week we'll get an update that says it will be done the following week.
  17. :?: That's a Cubs tie in with Scott McClain who was nicknamed "Die Hard" as he single handedly proved that ST is not a good way to judge talent. Ah, gotcha. I remember him. He was the MVP of the PCL a couple years ago I think.
